Abstract
An outdoor cleaning stand for, example, a barbecue grill, incorporates a main tray 1 supported by folding legs 6. Cleaning fluids and waste water may be discharged via spout 2 and, optionally, hose 8. Ridges in the tray 4 aid drainage and pegs 5 retain the grill. Hole 3 facilitates flat hanging storage of the device.
Description
I
Grill Cleaning Aid This invention is intended to allow the safe and easy cleaning of barbecue grills outdoors.
The cleaning of barbecue grills is normally (and ideally) perfonned outdoors.
However, most grill-cleaning fluids are harmful, particularly to pets and vegetation, and can contaminate the area if not contained adequately in use.
What is needed therefore, is a device that allows all cleaning fluids and rinsings to discharge straight into an outside drain or gully. Effectively a draining board on legs, with spout at one end which is positioned over an outside drain. It may be possible to affix a pipe to said spout, so that spillages [of harmfi.il fluids] are eliminated entirely.
The device in normal use shall stand at a slight incline to facilitate draining. It shall incorporate retaining pegs to hold the grill in place whilst it is being cleaned.
It is expected that rinsing [of the grill and device thereafter] shall be perfbrmed with bosepipe or watering can.
The device shall have folding legs and carrying handle(s), so that it may be collapsed and stored flat, preferably by hanging up.
The device may incorporate stowage for cleaning brushes etc. The invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 shows a plan view of the device, Figure 2 shows the device as assembled for use, and Figure 3 shows the device in the stowed position.
Figure 1 shows the approximate proportions of the device as viewed from above. It is essentially a tray (1) with raised ridges (4) for strength and improved drainage, drain hole (2) and retaining pegs (5). It shall be of adequate length and width for a normal barbecue grill to be laid therein. It shall be constructed of such material so as to be resistant to cleaning fluids that may reasonably be used for this purpose. A hole (3) may be included through which to hahg the device when not in use, but must not a1ow fluids to run through it onto the ground. End (a) shall be slightly higher than end (b), so that waste water may run towards end (b).
Figure 2 shows the device as viewed from the side, as set up for normal use. Folding legs (6) shall incorporate bracing bars (7) for improved stability. End (a) shall be slightly higher than end (b) to ensure drainage. Where it is not possible to position the spout (2) over the drain (9), an optional drain hose (8) may be attached to the spout, for this purpose. Ground (10), wall (11).
Figure3 shows the device in its stowed position. Legs (6) fold flat to the body, and the whole assembly may be hung up by means of hole (3).
Claims (3)
- Claims 1. A cleaning stand for barbecue grills in which cleaning fluidsand waste water are contained and discharged directly into an outside drain or gully.
- 2. A cleaning stand for barbecue grills according to claim 1, which is portable and can be stored flat and haiighi.
- 3. A cleaning stand for barbecue grills according to claim 1, which has folding legs and can be erected quickly and easily.
