Abstract

A chemical pollutant container 8 is conical in shape, at its lesser diameter end it has a connecting socket 9 which push fits onto the spigot end of a spray nozzle 4 of a liquid holding spray bottle 1, its larger opposite end 10 is left open ended and has around its circumference on its external edge a fibrous plastic rough faced washer 14 which is pliable. When the conical container 8 is connected to a spray bottle 1 and pressed against a flat surface 11 the washer 14 forms a seal between the two. If the trigger 3 of the spray bottle 1 is then squeezed, the ejected airborne droplets 7 are contained in the conical container 8 on hitting surface 11 the droplets 7 return to a collective liquid. The captive liquid 7 in the conical container 8 can then be moved around the window pane, tiles, etc., the fibrous washer 14 lightly scrubbing the surface 11. These procedures ensure that no harmful airborne chemical droplets 7 are inhaled or have skin contact with the user, it also protects furnishings, woodwork, paint, plastics, etc. If the conical container 8 is used close to an uneven surface the airborne droplets 7 are greatly reduced, those still airborne travel sideways away from the users hands and face, and not outwards.

Description

I
CHEMICAL POLLUTANT CONTAINER
BACKGROUND
The application for patent describes a solution to the problem of surface cleaners for household use, whose application to a surface to be cleaned is by a hand operated pressurized container, ejecting a chemical mixture into the atmosphere via a small orifice.
The pressurized mixture being ejected from the small orifice causes the mixture to be ejected in a fine airborne liquid which is widespread, consisting of very small droplets, of which a large percentage do not reach the surface at which the spray is directed. These droplets fill the air around the user's head and hands, particularly when the spray is used vertically and above the user's head.
As these sprays are generally used in a vertical position, for windows, bathroom tiles, and such places as shower cubicles, which for this latter the spray is ejected in a very confined space.
The fact that the user, uses the spray with a bent arm, places their skin and face in close proximity to the ejected mixture.
Because of this close proximity, the chemical mixture can be smelt, which proves the mixture is being inhaled, and the effect of the chemicals being on the skin and inhaled must be harmful.
Because the ejected chemical, which has a wide spread of spray, cannot be directed to a small precise area, it can have damaging effects on finished wood, some metals and plastics, curtains and carpets, confirmed by manufacturers printed warnings on the container.
The object of the invention is to eliminate the chemical droplets, or in some cases reduce the effects on the operator.
The sprays are used horizontally on flat surfaces but more often they are used in a vertical position, which offers more danger of inhalation by the user. -The present invention to be described shows that the harmful airborne chemical droplets can be eliminated, and in other areas of use it can reduce the chance of inhalation and skin contact.
The invention can also localize the use of pain killing skin sprays used on the human frame, where the inhalation of the ejected droplets can be highly dangerous.
The present invention also allows the sprays to be more economical in use, because a large percentage of the sprayed liquid falls to the floor, which the to be described container prevents.
The reasons why a fine spray is used is that if it were a jet of liquid the resulting effect of it hitting the surface to be cleaned would be that it splashed everywhere.
CHEMICAL POLLUTANT CONTAINER
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
To solve this problem the invention proposes a conical container that push fits over the spray outlet on the mixture bottle.
The conical container is wider at its opposite end and open around the circumference of this open end and on its external edge there is an open weave fibrous like circular plastic washer attached.
As the trigger on the nozzle housing is squeezed, the liquid content of the mixture bottle is pressurized and is then ejected from the spray nozzle as a very fine mist of liquid droplets.
Because the droplets are confined inside the conical container which is pressed against a flat surface, sealed by the fibrous like circular washer, none of the dangerous liquid droplets escape into the atmosphere As the droplets hit the flat surface inside the conical container's perimeter, they return back to a collective pool of liquid, which is then spread around the surface to be cleaned by the fibrous like washer on the end of the conical container and finished off with a cloth.
CHEMICAL POLLUTANT CONTAINER
ADVANTAGES
The proposed invention protects users of harmful chemical surface cleaner sprays used on horizontal and vertical flat surfaces by totally eliminating the dangerous to health chemical mixtures by inhalation or skin contact.
On uneven surfaces the invention greatly reduces the size of the chemical loaded cloud of droplets and directs them sideways away from the user's face and hands.
The sealing washer on the open end of the conical container is used to spread around the captive liquid over the surface to be cleaned, and lightly scrub the surface.
Generally used on horizontal or vertical flat surfaces the conical container ensures that wood, metal, plastics, curtains and carpets are protected from the gravity bound droplets.
The conical container creates an economy saving of the liquid, because all of the liquid ejected lands on the surface to be cleaned and not on surrounding woodwork, etc., or on the floor.
Also the method of cleaning surfaces, windows, etc., is much easier. Instead of squeeze and wipe using two hands, the user squeezes, spreads and cleans the surface with one hand using the bottle spray, and then dries the surface with Kitchen Roll or suitable cloth.
The cleaning pad also prevents the liquid dribbling down the wall after spraying.
CHEMICAL POLLUTANT CONTAINER
DESCRIPTION
Use Fig 1 -side elevation Shows a bottle type container (1) and parts for delivering a spray of liquid surface cleaner in households, trigger housing (2), a trigger (3), a spray nozzle (4) and a pressurized liquid tube (5) and liquid (6).
The bottle type container (1) is filled with a cleaning liquid (6) as the trigger (3) is depressed the container (1) is pressurized, forcing the liquid in the bottle up the exit tube (5) and through the trigger housing (2), the pressurized liquid (6) then ejects from nozzle (4) and explodes into the atmosphere as an airborne fine mist (7) of liquid droplets.
Use Fig 2 -side elevation Shows a conical shaped container (8) connected at its narrowest diameter width via a socket (9) to the spray nozzle (4) of container (1), this connector is a push fit but could be a permanent connection. At the conical container's (8) other end (10) it's diameter is greater and is open ended.
Use Fig 3 Shows a bottle container (1) filled with liquid (6) as trigger (3) is depressed pressurizing container (1) the liquid (6) is ejected under pressure from nozzle (4) in the form of fine airborne liquid droplets (7) into conical container (8) which is pressed up to the flat surface to be cleaned (11) sealed by pad (14) the airborne liquid droplets (7) ejected are now completely sealed in.
As the liquid droplets (7) hit the area to be cleaned (11) covered by the conical container (8) they join together to form a collective pool of liquid again.
This process eliminates any chance of the fine airborne liquid droplets (7) exploding from the spray nozzle (4) being inhaled or making skin contact.
Use Fig 4 Shows that when the spray bottle (1) is used on an uneven surface the liquid airborne droplets (7) are very much less and directed sideways and not towards the user's face and hands, compared with demonstration drawing in Fig 1. Fi 5
Shows a perspective view of the conical container (8).

Use Fig 8 Shows a circular pad of hard wearing scourer type fibrous material (14).
Use Fig 9 Shows a circular pad (14) of hard wearing scourer type fibrous material attached to conical container (8) on its open edge (10) the pad (14) is used to spread the liquid (6) across a flat surface such as a window, tiles, and working surfaces and can be used for scouring these surfaces clean without scratching, before polishing with Kitchen Roll or a cloth.
The pad (14) also acts as a seal between the conical container and the surface to be cleaned to contain the harmful liquid droplets (7).
