Abstract

A baby's feeding bottle that has a built in thermometer that shows possibly by changing in colour, the temperature of the contents of the bottle, indicating when it is safe and an acceptable temperature for the contents to be consumed by the baby. A reversible temperature sensitive strip (1) is incorporated into the structure of the bottle along its long side and indicates the temperature of the contents of the bottle. The possible colour range of the strip indicates a minimum of three temperature ranges, these are up to early /mid 20 {C in one colour, early/mid 20 {C to early/mid 30 {C in a second colour, and early/mid 30 {C and above a third colour (Colour can be text, patterned and any hue or tone and includes clear). The temperature indicator of the contents on the side of the bottle is to indicate a suitable temperature, at which the contents of the bottle could be consumed, not to hot to cause discomfort and burns and not to cold to cause discomfort.

Description

UK PATENT SPECIFICATION
Title: Drinking bottle
Background:
This invention relates to a bottle so the temperature of its contents is indicated on the side of the bottle.
When a baby feeds from a bottle, the temperature of the milk or water or liquid is very important. Often the liquid has to be warmed from being stored in a fndge to a temperature between mid 20 to lower! mid 30 C any hotter than this and the liquid can burn the baby's mouth and oesophagus and stomach. Too cold and the baby can refuse to drink/feed or it can cause the baby upset.
There is currently no feeding bottle that can indicate the temperature of its contents -such a bottle could reduce the risk of over heating the liquid that could cause burns to the baby.
Statement of invention:
To overcome this, the present invention proposes to incorporate a reversible temperature sensitive colour change strip along the side of the bottle -this strip changes colour according to the temperature of the contents of the bottle.
Advantages This temperature indication of the contents of the bottle will warn if the liquid might bum or be too cold for the consumer of the contents. As it is incorporated into the bottle, there will be a continuous indication of the temperature of the contents wherever it is heated! cooled or used.
Introduction drawings:
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings: -Fig I shows a baby's feeding bottle with the temperature sensitive colour change strip incorporated into the side of the bottle.
Detailed description
A baby's feeding bottle that has a built indicator of the temperature of the liquid it contains.
This indicator is a reversible temperature sensitive colour change strip. This strip is incorporated into the long side of the baby bottle -running most or all of the length of the side of the bottle.
This colour change thermometer range is from -5 C to 105 C There are 3 main colours to this strip that show at different temperature ranges One colour up to mid 20 C Second colour from mid 20 C to early/mid 30 C Third colour early/mid 30 C and above.
(Colour can include any hue, pattern or tone and also clear) The colour of the temperature range from mid 20 C to early/mid 30 C Indicates the temperature at which it is safe for the liquid to be consumed.
