Abstract
The bottle is a standard blown or moulded plastic or glass baby feeding bottle with an additional feature in which a heat-sensitive colour-changing temperature indicator 5 is located on a wall 3 of the bottle, either in a horizontal position, or in a vertical position. The purpose of the temperature indicator which may be of liquid crystal material is to introduce a scientific element in the preparation of baby feed, so that the user can visually monitor the temperature when heating up baby feed to reach the proper level for the baby's safety and to prevent discomfort. <IMAGE>
Description
THE SUPER BOTTLE
This invention relates to feeding bottles, entitled 'The Super
Bottle', used in particular for feeding young babies.
Feeding bottles are items well known and accepted as the traditional way of feeding babies between age 0 to 5 throughout the world. When preparing the feed, it is essential to monitor the temperature of liquid carefully. If the baby is given a feed that is too hot, there will be a danger of causing discomfort and possibly even harm.
According to the present invention, a feeding bottle is provided with a heat-sensitive device that changes colour according to the temperature. The colour changing device is located on the wall of the bottle, either in a horizontal position, or in a vertical position.
Because the temperature indicator is contained within the wall of the bottle, the correct temperature can be visually and continuously observed from all direction, regardless of the colour of the liquid within the bottle.
By way of example, embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 and 2 illustrate two embodiments of the invention.
Figure 3 and 4 illustrate cross section of Figures 1 & 2
Refering to the drawings, a bottle Figure 1 include a rubber teat 1 connected to the bottle in a conventional manner by a screw-top 2. The bottle has a side wall 3 and a flat bottom wall 4. Formed as an additional feature of the side wall 3 is a heat-sensitive colour changing temperature indicator of liquid crystal material, positioned horizontally 5 or positioned vertically 6.
While one embodiment of the invention has been described, it will be understood that it is capable of further modifications and this application is intended to cover any variations, uses or adaptations of the invention, following in general the principles of the invention and including such departures from the present disclosure as to come within knowledge or customary practice in the art to which the invention pertains, and as may be applied to essential features hereinbefore set forth and falling within the scope of the invention or the limits of the appended claims.
Claims (5)

comprising a conventional baby feeding bottle, a teat
connected in a conventional manner by a screw-top. The
bottle has a cylindrical side wall and a flat bottom wall.
2 The Super Bottle as defined in Claim 1 wherein the guide
means is provided along the side wall, a heat-sensitive
colour- changing temperature indicator of liquid crystal
material.
3 The Super Bottle as defined in Claim 1 and Claim 2 wherein
the guide means is provided the temperature indicator may
be positioned horizontally or vertically along the side
wall.
4 The Super Bottle as defined in Claim 1 and Claim 2 wherein
the guide means is provided the temperature indicator be
mounted on the inside of the cylindrical side wall.
5 The Super Bottle substantially as described herein with
reference to figures 1 - 4 of the accompanying drawing.
