Abstract

A waste compactor unit for a wheelie-type bin comprises a handle 1 to which a pushrod 3 carrying a compactor plate 4 is pivotally attached. The handle 1 has brackets 2 for temporary pivotal engagement with the handle portion of the bin during compaction of waste therein. Pulling downward of the free end of the handle exerts downward force on the waste and an upward reaction of the brackets against the bin handle portion. The pushrod 3 may be longer than the part of the handle between its connection to the pushrod and the brackets 2 so the removed compactor unit can be stood on the plate 4 with the handle 1 extending vertically, Figures 2 to 4.

THE HANDLE I IS THEN PULLED DOWNWARD CAUSING UPWARD FORCE TO THE BRACKETS 2. CAUSING THE BRACKETS 2.TO STAY IN POSON AND ALSO FORCING THE BASEPLATE 4.

    IN THE RECYCLE BIN WHICH IS MAINLY MADE UP OF
    EMPTY PACKAGING FULL OF NOTHING BUT AIR.
    THE COMPACTOR HAS THE LEVERAGE AND FORCE
    TO COMPACT TWO AND A HALF WHEELIE BINS
    OF REFUSE PACKAGING IN TO ONE WHEELIE BIN
    WHEN USED BY ANY ABLE PERSON.
