Abstract

A wheelie bin compacter utilises the grab handles of the wheelie bin's body as a fulcrum(4) for a lever arm(3), connected to the lever arm is a pushrod(2) and pressure plate(1). In order to Compact the contents of the wheelie bin the lever arm is pushed downward at A, as the lever is depressed the pressure plate is forced into the wheelie bin container, compacting it's content. The connection at the fulcrum (4) may comprise a clip or hook, allowing removal of the compactor when not in use. There may be a pair of lever arms (3) and pushrods (2) as shown.

Wheelie Bin Compacter This invention relates to in a wheelie Bin compacter A wheelie Bin is a tall rubbish container with a hinged lid, two wheels and grab handles used for moving it around.

If rubbish contained in the Bin stands proud of the lid, the lid will not close, this can cause the Bin lid to it easily blow open. If the Bin is left with the lid open it can easily fill with water, rubbish contained in the Bin can blow out and unpleasant smells can be emmitted.

According to the present invention there is provided a wheelie bin compacter that utilises the grab handles of the wheelie bins body as a fulcrum for a lever arm, connected to the lever arm is a push rod and pressure plate.

A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which :- Figure 1. Shows in perspective, the wheelie bin compacter by it self.

Referring to the drawing the compacter comprises of a pressure plate/s (1) mounted on push rod/s (2) connected to a lever arms (3) which is intern connected to the grab handles on the wheelie bins body, by for example a clip, hook or similar means (4) to create a secure fulcrum hinge. Figure 1.

In order to compact the contents of the wheelie bin the lever arm is pushed downward at position at A, as the lever is depressed the pressure plate is forced into the wheelie bin container, compacting its content. The wheelie bins grab handles act as the fulcrum for the leverage. Once the operation is complete the compacter can be removed from the wheelie bin handles and stored. Figure 2.

Claims.

1. A wheelie bin compacter that utilises the grab handles of the wheelie bins body as a fulcrum for a lever arm/s, connected to the lever arm is a push rod/s and pressure plate/s.

2. A wheelie bin a compacter as described in claim 1, that utilises a pressure plate/s whose fulcrum operates via the wheelie bins body grab handles.

3. A wheelie bin compactor as desribed in claim 1 that utilises a pressure plate/s whose fulcrum operates via the wheelie bin body grab handles and stores/hangs on these grab handles when not in use.

3. A wheelie bin compacter as described in claim 1, that utilises one or more lever arm, push rod, or pressure plate.

Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows Claims 1. A wheelie bin compactor that hooks onto the grab handles of the wheelie bins body as a fulcrum for a lever arm/s, connected to the ! eve ; arm is a push rod/s and pressure plate.

2. When not in use the same hooks used for the fulcrum action can be used to store the compactor on the back of the wheelie bin by folding the Jever arm/s and push rod/s flat and hooking it on the grab handles of the wheelie bin.
