Abstract

A multi drawer recycling bin, the bin has 5 drawers to assist in the separation and collection of household waste. The drawers are colour coded and have written descriptions to identify the waste to be collected. Preferably the drawers are incorporated into the main body of a wheelie bin, and preferably sit on shelves in the main body of the bin, allowing the drawers to be removed for emptying. The bin maybe made from recycled, new or a combination of plastic and / or aluminium.

Description of Invention

Title: 5 x Multi Drawer Colour Coded Recycling Wheelie Bin This is as described as in the title, that being a 5 drawer colour coded recycling wheelie bin for the purpose of householders to collect and deposit their recyclable waste in for regular collection by their local refuse collectors.

The bin is based on the generally used wheelie type bin and is intended to replace the currently used kerbside collection boxes that can be heavy, overflowing and recyclable items all mixed together.

It has been developed to allow easy collection and transportation to the kerbside and to compliment alongside other wheelie bins that collect the non-recyclable materials and garden waste wheelie bins.

This bin is a purely multi drawer bin for the typical recyclable material with each drawer intending to be colour coded as per universal recommendations with a description on each drawer written in an opposing colour describing what material the drawer is intended to hold.

The wheelie bin is intended to be made of recycled or new or a combination of both new and recycled plastic or aluminium or a combination of both in order to utilise Materials that are currently being recycled and which ever material is considered more energy efficient and environmentally friendly will be used more predominantly in the production of this bin.

The bin is not intended to replace current traditional wheelie bins but to compliment what is already being used but is intended to assist householders to recycle more recyclable materials.

Claims

Clauns 1. A 5 x multi drawer colour coded recycling bin intended for

the separate easy storage of different types of recyclable materials to compliment the existing wheelie bins for non recyclable and garden waste.

2. Each drawer as described in Claim 1 will be colour coded for ease by the householder and will have written descriptions in an opposing colour as to what the drawer is to store.

3. The multi drawers will slot in and out of the main body of the wheelie bin for ease to fill and empty.

4. The bin and drawers will be easily cleanable.

5. The bin will have a strong handle and wheels in order to maintain easy kerb side collection.

6. All recyclable materials will be separated to each drawer to prevent cross contamination of recyclable materials that currently happens in recyclable boxes.

7. The bin will be made of recycled or new or a combination of both new and recycled plastic or aluminiwn or a combination of both in order to utilise Materials that are currently being recycled and which ever material is considered more energy efficient and environmentally friendly will be used more predominantly in the production of this bin.

2. The bin will be a solid frame with the mechanism to hold 5 colour-coded drawers as described in Claim 1.
3. Each drawer as described in Claim 1 will be colour coded for ease of use by the householder and will have written descriptions in an opposing colour as to what recyclable material the drawer is intended to store.
4. The multi drawers will slot in and out of the main body of the wheelie bin for ease to fill and empty.
5. The bin and drawers will be easily cleanable.
