Abstract

An absorbent pad 1 wrapped around the ankle of the wearer, to absorb urine during toilet training. Preferably the pad is thicker 2 at the top of the pad along the longest edge of the pad, and during use the pad may be worn under socks with the thicker section protruding from the socks. Preferably the pad is a rectangular shape and positioned snugly around the wearer's ankle/leg using repositionable fasteners (3, Fig 2) along the shortest edges or a stretchable panel (5, Fig 3) connecting the two shortest panels. Alternatively the pad may be incorporated into a sock 6.

Description

1 2443154 Absorbent ankle pads.
This invention relates to absorbent pads which are worn around the lower legs or ankles during toilet training.
When a person wets themselves during toilet training urine can leak down the inside leg and into their shoes. While clothes are easy to wash and dry, shoes are especially difficult to clean and spare pairs can be expensive to buy.
To overcome this, the present invention proposes a highly absorbent pad to be positioned snugly around the ankles or lower legs.
The pads will absorb urine as it runs down the leg minimising the need to wash and dry urine contaminated shoes.
Preferably the pads will have a thicker section at the top, which will sit in a superior position to the person's socks.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the * accompanying drawings: figure 1 shows a version of the invention laid out flat figure 2 shows the same version of the invention which is wrapped around the lower leg and secured into position figure 3 shows an elasticated version of the invention which does not unwrap figure 4 shows how the invention may be worn in relation to the socks figure 5 shows an elasticated version that is built into a sock.
A highly absorbent pad (I) which has a thicker section (2) along the superior edge. One version of the invention may have repositionable fastening material (3) located along the shortest edges that will be joined together to secure the pad snugly around the ankle or lower leg (4). In an alternative elasticated version of the invention these fastenings are not required as the pad will have a stretchable panel (5) which will enable it to slide up over the foot and into position. In both versions most of the pad may be positioned under the sock (6) with only the thicker section (2) protruding. A third alternative version of the invention is a sock with the pad built into it (7). Claim

Claims (2)

around the ankle or lower.
2. A highly absorbent pad according to claim I with a thicker section at the top.
