Abstract
A container for dispensing safety spectacles and safety goggles that has at least one vertical opening 2 in its front or side panels which allows the spectacles to be easily accessed and lifted out of the top of the container.

CONTAINER FOR SAPETT SPECTACLES
This invention relates to a container for safety spectacles and safety goggles.
Safety spectacles or goggles are often worn as personal protective equipment in laboratory and engineering environments. Such eyewear needs to be kept in a readily accessible location for both workers and visitors alike.
In addition the spectacles or goggles need to be kept free from damage and in a relatively hygienic environment.
Containers for such eyewear are known but suffer from the disadvantage that the spectacles are usually stacked into the container from the top and removed through a wide opening near the base. When spectacles are removed from such a container, more than one pair can be accidentally removed. In addition, spectacles can be damaged or accidentally released if the container is loaded by dropping spectacles into it from the top.
The object of this invention is to allow easy loading of and easy access to stacked spectacles within a container.
Accordingly, this invention proposes a container having at least one vertical opening in its front or side panels that allows the spectacles to be easily accessed and lifted out of the top of the container.
Preferably, the contents are stacked one above each other in the container.
Preferably, the vertical opening is small enough to allow access to the contents but small enough to prevent them from falling out.
Preferably, the container has a lid.
Preferably, the container is wall-mounted.
Preferably, the container is made of a transparent material.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings: Figures 1 and 2 show containers according to the invention.
The containers shown have a base panel 1. The front panel contains a vertical opening 2. A hinged lid 3 is fitted to the top of the container. The vertical opening 2 allows access to the contents which are then lifted out of the top of the container. The vertical opening 2 also allows the contents to be loaded into the container without letting them drop into it. The vertical opening 2 is wide enough to allow access to the contents but is narrow enough to prevent the contents from falling out through it.
Claims (6)
- Claims 1. A container for spectacles and goggles that has at least oneopening in its front or side panels allowing the contents to be easily accessed and lifted into and out of the container.
- 2. A container according to claim 1, in which the opening is large enough to allow access to the contents but which is small enough to prevent them from falling out.
- 3. A container according to claim 1 or claim 2, in which the contents are stacked upon one another.
- 4. A container according to any of claims 1. to 3, in which the container is fitted with a lid
- 5. A container according to any of claims 1 to 4, in which the container is wall mounted.
- 6. A container according to any of claims 1 to 5, in which the container is made from a transparent or partially transparent material.
