Description

Flexiblç Corner Floor Panel.
This invention has been invented for the floor to wall integral panel connection element of the Wall and Floor Tile Panel Support System (Building Construction); The Flexible Corner Floor Panel is by definition a separate invention within the overall Wall and Floor Tile Panel Support System invention concept. The Flexible Corner Floor Panel invention would seek to apply the original submission date granted to the first submission of the Wall and Floor Tile Panel Support System dated 2 October 2006. Ref GB0620703.9 which included this Flexible Corner Floor Panel invention within its primary application.
The practical re-application of rigid fixed panels to an existing room or space can often be an exasperating experience, even for the most qualified skilled person.
Existing or new structures are never completely square or perfect within the inner three dimensional cube facets of building construction. In essence no floor, wall or wall to floor is perfectly straight or square and moreover in particular within that surface facet is rarely symmetrically relevant to perpendicular form. The most imperfect correlation of square lines will be found between the lateral floor and connecting perpendicular wall. The floor lineage will undoubtedly fail to correspondently match the vertical square requirements relative to the perpendicular vertical line. Consequently the building term Cutting In' refers to the method when laying floor materials of selecting the squarest side within a total room dimension, and then using the material to Cut In' to the least square side of that room. The most notorious and problematic area in any building construction is The Corner Area' where lines of lateral and Vertical Square' are even visually found to be imperfect.
To overcome the foregoing problems this invention The Flexible Corner Floor Panel' provides a rigid but flexible waterproof material application resolve to the foregoing problematic floor-corner. The invention has been designed to waterproof seal the wall and floor panels as detailed within the Patent Application No. GB0620703.9 the Wall and Floor Tile Panel Support System. This Panel Support System has been invented to provide a continuous sealed waterproof framework for the final fixing of tiles or other presentational materials to the facing surface of the panels. The system has two main advantage themes, the first of simple interior reconstruct for older buildings and secondly providing a water sealed barrier from possible exterior water penetration. Equally the panel system will provide a water sealed barrier from inside a building to the rearward base of the presentational surface material, whether in tile or other desired presentational material. 2.
The waterproofing integrity of the entire Wall and Tile Panel Support System is dependant upon the waterproofing compilation of each of its component connecting parts. The waterproofing integrity of the panels and joints will prevent water of any degree from entering through either the rearward or the front facing surface of the panel and its component parts and joints. The Flexible Corner Floor Panel will be constructed with strict reference to the specifications as detailed within the invention of the Wall and Floor Tile Panel Support System for provision of continuity and
design specification fit purposes.
The Flexible Corner Floor Panel has a continuous lateral wedge cut out' segments to its top face and rearward surface faces. The wedge cut out' segments are inverted to provide a non pull out grip slot. The wedge cut out' between the rearward and top face surface are offset to create the appearance on the end elevation view of a Z' type profile. This profile simultaneously provides a non pull out grip' to the top face and rearward panel surface of the Flexible Corner Floor Panel. The top facing surface of the Flexible Corner Floor Panel will have fluorescent vertical and lateral lines of differing dimensions which are consistent to those graphical markings contained within the Wall and Floor Tile Panel Support System. The graphical markings may be of differing colours to denote differing facing products and presentational materials with differing dimensions to be attached to the overall Panel Support System.
The wall section of the Flexible Corner Floor Panel has a smaller rearward section to the top face dimension than the floor portion of the Flexible Corner Floor Panel. This difference of panel and thickness can be of any dimension similarly the Z' profiling can also be of any dimension for the intended installation, therefore any thickness or ratio of complementary dimensions could be used. The thickness of the floor portion of the Flexible Corner Floor Panel will be of a required strength to accommodate calculated weight and pressure within varied directions extenuating to the floor surfaces. The thickness of material would also take into consideration weight and pressure from predetermined water penetration and ensuing pressures created externally and internally by other construction factors. The invention is capable of applying a totally flexible reconfiguration capability depending upon relative perceived local site environmental conditions.
The four shaped flat sides of the Flexible Corner Floor Panel are joined together by a bonded non corrosive strong flexible waterproof fillet material, which will have been moulded into the internal joining flat sides of the Flexible Corner Floor Panel at the 3.
manufacture stage. This flexible jointing would allow square or rectangular panels within the Wall and Floor Tile Panel Support System to be easily fitted to form a waterproof seal between the floor and wall panels of that system.
The edges of the four flat sides of the Flexible Corner Floor Panel that are not connected by the moulded flexible waterproof fillet material will have a step joint for the application of a waterproof cement /paste for bonding with other floor, skirting or wall panels to maintain the overall waterproofing integrity of the Wall and Floor Tile Panel Support System.
The Z' profile shape as shown on the End Elevation View of the Flexible Corner Floor Panel drawing figure 2 shows the detail of the' Wedge Cuts' with the inverted inside line to provide a non pull out grip. This wedge shape could be of any shape or design but for illustration purposes the preferred design is shown. This mirror imaged cut out shape to the opposite surface need not be symmetrically cut. The cut out shapes could even be spherical design in cut out shape. The selected wall or floor bonded grip for this invention uses the wedge shape to illustrate minimum requirements for the use of waterproof cement or paste, to obtain the required maximum achievable pull fixing power.
The strong, inflexible, waterproof panel material portions of the Flexible Corner Floor Panel will be capable with suitable waterproof cement and paste applications to receive other fixed products to its surfaces. The cut outs' would also be able to receive a screw head for pennanent screw fixing into a wall, floor of ceiling surface.
The cut out' shape containing a fixed screw on the facing surface would be suitably waterproofed with a waterproof cap.
The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings as follows:-Figure 1. An Isometric drawing showing the completed presentational view of the Flexible Corner Floor Panel fixed in a corner position.
Figure 2. The End Elevation view of the Flexible Corner Floor Panel which details the Wedge Cut Outs' that will provide the non pull out grip to the rearward or front facing surface.
--4.
The isometric drawing shown in Figure 1. defines the narrowness and length of the Flexible Corner Floor Panel invention. No. 4. provides an angled step designed to receive an identical end step of a floor or wall panel to be fixed with waterproof cement/paste. The strong waterproofed non corrosive flexible material is shown connected to the other jointing edges at No. 5. The fluorescent coloured graphical lateral and vertical guide lines are not displayed on the facing top surface of the Flexible Corner Floor Panel. The wedge cut outs similarly are not shown in this drawing but are detailed in Figure 2.
In Figure 2. the End Elevation View of the Flexible Corner Floor Panel provides detail of the panel's facing and rearward facing Wedge Cut Outs' No. 1 and No. 2 respectively. The drawing shows the End Elevation Z' profile of the Wedge Cut Out' shapes which are inverted to maintain a non pull out grip. Illustrated at No. 7 shows differing angles of the joint's step shoulder butt for waterproof cement/paste bonding. No. 8 also shows the other half of the step construction. No 3. and No. 6 detail the strong waterproofed non corrosive flexible material in location between the non flexible panels and the internal ball ends of that material moulding within the panel body. 5.
