Abstract

A long and shallow vacuum cleaner crevice attachment that can be connected to most standard vacuum cleaning machine hoses. The attachment is designed to quickly and affectively clean large soft areas such as beds, sofas and curtains. The attachment is also designed to quickly and affectively clean difficult to reach areas, such as below and far ends of beds, wardrobes and domestic appliances. The attachment can include a removable cover to selectively cover slots to increase the suction force.

Description

1 2442195 Long and shallow vacuum cleaner attachment This invention
relates to a device which enables people to vacuum large soft area's and deep shallow spaces more quickly and affectively by its attachment to a vacuum cleaning machine hose.
The first special feature of this invention is its long length (6Ocm-7Ocm). Conventional attachments provided with vacuum cleaners do not have the adequate length to clean large areas, e.g. beds, sofas and curtains, quickly and affectively.
The shallow height (lcm-2cm)of the cleaning surface along with the long length, of this invention, enables the user to reach deep into shallow spaces, e.g. such as under beds, wardrobes and domestic appliances.
The second special feature of this invention is its smooth surface design. The attachment is ideal for vacuuming soft materials such as bed spreads, sofas and curlains without snagging.
The third special feature is the multiple suction slots on all the main surfaces of the attachment. These will dissipate, balance and reduce the energy of the vacuum suction so that only a sufficient amount of suction is available to pick up the dust particles that are normally found on and under the examples given. The energy reducing affect of the all round slots will reduce the sticking problem generally associated with vacuuming soft materials.
If required the suction power can be increased by closing off the slots on one side by using a cover that comes with the attachment.
Figure 1 gives a top elevation view of the invention. The wide black lines shown on the figures represent slots for the vacuum suction.
Figure 2 gives a view of a removable cover for the suction slots. This cover can be used to close off the suction slots on the top bottom of the cleaning surface.
Figure 3 gives a bottom elevation view of the invention. Dotted line "X" indicates the length of the main cleaning surface this will be sufficiently long enough (6Ocm-lOcm) to reach to the back of a standard wardrobe or domestic appliance.
Figure 4 gives the side "A" elevation view. In this figure point "Y" is shown. This is where the hose from a vacuum cleaner will be connected. The hose connection area (Y) of the invention is raised above the cleaning surface so that a grip can be made without the fingers and knuckles, of the user, touching the surface that is being cleaned.
Figure 5 gives the side "B" elevation view. Height "Z" is shown in this figure. This height is shallow enough so that it can access tight gaps and spaces as mentioned in the examples above.
Figure 6 gives the back elevation view. The round part of this figure is the female end Which will connect to the male hose end of a vacuum cleaner.
Figure 7 gives a front elevation view.

Claims (6)

  1. Claims I. A long and shaDow vacuum cleaning machine attachment that
will have a female connection end to fit most standard vacuum cleaning machine hose.
  2. 2. A long and shallow vacuum cleaning machine attachment that will be sufficiently long enough to reach the full depth of, e.g. standard wardrobes and domestic appliances.
  3. 3. A long and shallow vacuum cleaning machine attachment that will be sufficiently shallow enough to access the gaps under e.g wardrobes, beds and domestic appliances.
  4. 4. A long and shallow vacuum cleaning machine attachment that will have a surfuce that will not snag catch on soft material such as, e.g. bed linens, sofit covers and curtains.
  5. 5. A long and shallow vacuum cleaning machine attachment that will have low suction power so that the surface it is cleaning, e.g. bed lined or curtain, does not stick to the attachment.
  6. 6. A long and shallow vacuum cleaning machine attachment that will have a removable slot cover which can be connected to the top or bottom suction slots if the suction power needs to be increased.
