Abstract

Provided is a method for producing a hot-formed steel product wherein rupture, crack or the like does not occur during hot forming of a steel sheet. This method therefore realizes good hot forming of steel sheets. Specifically disclosed is a method for hot forming a steel sheet wherein the steel sheet is heated so as to have an austenitic structure, then the steel sheet is cooled to a temperature not higher than the martensitic transformation starting temperature (Ms) at an average cooling rate of not less than 20{C/sec, and after heating the thus-obtained steel sheet for hot forming to a temperature not less than the Ac1 transformation temperature, the steel sheet is subjected to hot forming. By such a method, there can be obtained a good hot-formed product.
