Abstract

A drainer for use with a sink or bowl that allows debris from food preparation e.g. the peelings from fruit or vegetables to be collected and for the debris to be drained before it is taken to a compost heap or placed in a bin. Preferably the drainer is light weight and has handles to allow the drainer to be easily lifted from the sink or bowl by a disabled or elderly person.

<p>The Peel Drainer/Saver This is a design to aid speed in the kitchen.

Also it is ideal for the conservationists who are either separating their waste vegetation or those who are creating compost heaps.</p>

<p>It is also designed as an aid for the disabled; and the elderley will also benefit from it 9ie those with arthritic hands) as it is very easy to handle.</p>

<p>The peel drainer is simple to use. Simply place in washing up bowl or sink, add water, place vegetable and/or fruit in the water and peel.</p>

<p>Separate the peeled vegetables into a bowl, lift the peel drainer; & quickly and easily the water is drained away.</p>

<p>(This is also a good way of saving water as, as the vegetables are in a bowl or sink of clean water it is not necessary for the tap to run continuously) The Peel Drainer can then be taken away to either a compost heap or environmentally friendly bin, & thus disposed.</p>

<p>It is 30 cm Long cm Wide 13 cm High The handles are 10cm in length & 6 cm wide for easy grip.</p>

<p>These dimensions fit into a sink or washing-up bowl It is made of stainless steel; frame & mesh alike; the meshing is 2cm dia: hole It is light in weight & simple to use A more economical version could be manufactured in hardened plastic</p>
