I

Shower Ear Cap

Description

My invention relates to a shower ear cap protector, a type that could be used in salon/barber type environment, or in a shower, wherever showered water poses a threat of penetrating the ear.

The ear cap will be made of suitable water resistant material such as plastic, etc totally covering your ear from the risk of water penetrating into them.

There are many uses for this invention which could be suggested. If you wear a hearing device fixed in your ears, or you just don't want to remove it when you have a shower, you can put the ear cap on. Hair stylist and barbers are not permitted to allow water to penetrate the customer's ears when they are washing their hair, so you can now offer them ear caps for their comfort.

The flat outer surface area (1) of the ear cap has plenty of space to promote ones company, or add a logo, or just to add different style, patterns on it or just to make it more stylish. This would be a great marketing tool.

Ensuring the ear cap fits snugly over the individuals ears, the opening (6) where the ear would reside will be lined with elastic (4), double stitched (2) for comfort, with a strip of rubber (5) also stitched to the opening ring which when pressed to the side of the face ensuring no water seeps through, and that no matter the size of your ears it would fit nicely. The design is made to ensure the ear cap is a more flat style, incorporated into the plastic material will be a piece of firm flat plastic (7) stuck/stitched into the inside of the ear cap. This will ensure the ear cap is not puffy or baggy, but more unisex, appealing to all that wear it what ever the individual's gender.

There would be two main types of cap: a) Disposable ones, you throw away after use or. b) Ear caps that can easily be cleaned and will be made mildew resistant My invention will now be described by way of example, with reference to drawings: Fig 1) Show's a slight view of the top (1) and more emphases of the side of the shower ear cap, with an elasticised band (4) double stitched (2) within the plastic material (3) ensuring a comfortable snug fit. Also a thin piece of rubber (6) will be stitched (2) to the outer edge of the opening ensuring no water seeps down to the ear from the face. The height of the ear cap stands 15mm tall from a flat surface.

Shower Ear Cap

Description corn-

Fig 2) this diagram show's the bird's eye view of the ear cap, empathising on the shape and area of the top (1) of the ear cap. The top surface (1) of the ear cap is a flat surface which has ample space for a printed logo or design.

Fig 3) diagram show's the inner area underneath (6) the ear cap, where the opening for the ear resides.

Fig 4) shows a side view of the ear cap as if it were Cut in half, revealing all the relevant material used to make this invention. First layer a flexible water resistant material (1). Next from the top is a hard flat plastic (7) stuck down or stitched within the roof of the ear cap, ensuring it stays firm and flat. (3) Show's the side part of the ear caps flexible water resistant plastic. Then next is the first layer of stitching (2). Then next piece is a strip of elasticised band (4) ensuring the open can stretch if needed depending on the individual's ear. (2) Then the bottom of the elastic (4) will be stitched to the plastic material (3). Last of all a rubber strip will be stitched into the beginning of the opening which will act as part of the barrier between the side of your face skin and the ear cap making the shower ear cap totally water proof. When water particles are seeping off the face if being showered etc, the rubber ringed barrier will ensure the water goes around it instead of penetrating the cap and reaching the ear.

Fig 5) this picture show's in theory how a shower ear cap will look on a person wearing one.
