Abstract
The applicator may be fixed to any part of a heating system such as flow or return pipework. Two isolating valves 2 and 3 may be used for fixing, removal and functioning of the applicator. The applicator may be fitted with an air cock or plug for filling and venting and a drain cock for draining. The applicator may be used on open vent and sealed systems to allow inhibitor such as anti-corrosion flushing agents, cleanser or descaler to be added without draining the system.
Description

Central Heating Inhibitor' Applicator This device is used to fill
heating systems with inhibitor anti-corrosion' with out draining the heating system, It can also be used with a system cleanser or descaler.

It can be used in any position, but for ease of use it would be best suited in the vertical position to allow easy filling and draining of the unit.

The vessel holds approx 1 Litre of Inhibitor. The vessel works as follows, You attach the vessel to tile pre-plumbed pipe work with two tees and a valve between the Tees, you then remove the top "" Plug and pour in the inhibitor, replace the plug, Turn off the valve between the Tees turn on the two valves which the vessel is attached to, turn the boiler heating' on for just a few seconds for the inhibitor to be drawn in to the system, Turn the boiler off turn valves off on vessel turn on valve in between Tees on heating pipe.

The system is now primed with inhibitor more can be added if needed.

You can then drain the vessel with the drain cock, and remove the vessel if required, you can take this from Job to Job as long as the modifcation is carried out on the heating pipework makeing it completely mobile, or leave it in place, which I would reconunend'.

The unit is small approx I Litre capicity made of copper & brass, a filling point at the top & drain point at the bottom. I would think that a plastic vessel would suit as long as it takes pressure of mm 3.5 bar, I have not iiiquired about this as they manufactures of Plastics' would require details etc. The vessel is cylindrical but could be just about any shape.

There are two pipes on the vessel which attach to the heating system.

To add inhibitor to system fit unit to pre plumbed pipe work valve two tees'. Add inhibitor to vessel screw down plug, Turn off valve I turn on valves 2 & 3 Turn boiler on and the inhibitor is drawn in to heating system almost immediatly, leave for 20 secs or so turn off boiler shut valves 2 & 3 open valve 1, you can now take unit off or leave it.

This can be used on all systems open vent and sealed system.
