Abstract

A plant trough is provided with a water from a remote source. The trough has two long sides and two ends and water may enter the trough at a lower end of one of the two sides. Wooden batons may support the trough at the bottom. The trough may have means to control the water level in the trough and there may be a water level indicator. The trough may be adapted to hold one or more standard sized grow-bags which may be placed in the trough in a vertical position. Neoprene tubing may connect the trough to the remote source.

Description

1 2429621 Intellectual Property of Remote Feed Plant Trough This invention
relates to a Remote Feed Plant Trough. The trough is designed to contain one or more standard growbags standing on edge, for the production of strawberries, flowers and greenhouse crops, with minimum maintenance and water loss.
The growbag or growbags are perforated several times along the bottom edge before insertion into the trough. After insertion into the trough, appropriate holes are cut on the top edge of the growbag for the plants. The trough is remotely connected to a suitable water container via a length of neophrene tubing, to supply water and liquid feed.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows in perspective, the trough with growbag prior to insertion.
Figure 2 - shows a front view of the trough with the growbag in place.
Figure 3- shows three possible models in the use of the trough: A strawberry growing model with collar to protect ripening fruit B greenhouse fruit growing model C - shows three bags, edge on, for flowers or vegetables Figure 4- shows the trough connected to a water container via neophrene tubing.
Figure 5 - shows the detail of the water level indicator, marked D. Referring to the drawings: The trough comprises of a rigid plastic container, sized to closely fit one or more standard growbags, set on edge.
Square section wooden batons may be attached to the base of the container to provide stability.
Neophrene tubing connected to the tap on a water container can supply one or more troughs with water and liquid feed remotely.
A clear acrylic tube (Figure 5D) indicates water level inside the trough.
