Abstract

A baby bath support which supports a baby bath on a family bath 1,2 adjustable vertical supports sit across family bath, 3,4 adjustable horizontal supports sit inside family bath to prevent movement, 5, 6 adjustable horizontal supports sit on 1, 2 to secure baby bath, adjustable straps 8 to add additional support to baby bath.

Description

1 2428968 A Baby Bath Support.
This invention relates to a support to safely hold and secure a baby bath across a family bath.
After having a baby you may feel rather weak and tired. It can be a struggle to fill a baby bath from bathroom or kitchen taps by filling containers with water and carrying them to the baby bath. There is a risk of spillage therefore a risk of slipping over or a water logged carpet. It is also time consuming.
To empty a baby bath from a commercially available bath stand or table the bath would need to be carried to a sink thus the possibility of spillage or personal injury. If the baby bath is sat in the bottom of a family bath for the purpose of bathing a baby the carer has to bend over leaning into the family bath whilst supporting the baby therefore possibly creating back ache or a risk of slipping.
However with a baby bath support fig 1. The baby bath can be held safely and securely at bath top height.
The baby bath can be filled via a shower or container from the bath taps.
The baby bath can be emptied directly into the family bath with little or no lifting, depending on whether the baby bath is fitted with a plug.
Splashes are restricted to the bathroom where water is expected.
The carer does not have to bend into the family bath as the support is at a more reasonable height. Space pennitting the carer could sit on a stool or chair whilst bathing baby.
The bath support can be adjusted to fit an average family bath.
The bath support can be adjusted to hold most commercially available baby baths.
In fig I this shows a baby bath I being supported with the baby bath support 2 over a family bath 3. Also figure lB shows side on view.
In fig 2 this shows the baby bath support which includes vertical supports 1, 2 which sit across bath rim. The supports 3,4 can be adjusted to the width of the family bath by an adjusting mechanism that will secure them in position to prevent movement of the support. The supports 5, 6 are adjustable by an adjustable mechanism to hold the baby bath in position. Support 7 sits on support 2 to support the end of the baby bath. Support 8 is an adjustable strap which is secured on supports 1, 2 and 5, 6 to add extra support to the baby bath from underneath.
On each end of support 1, 2 and the side of support 3,4 there is an anti scratch material 9 to help with grip and avoid damage to family bath. 2.

  1. Claims 1. A baby bath support which sits on a family bath, which enables a
    baby bath to be supported safely for safety and convenience.
  2. 2. A baby bath support according to claim 1 consisting of adequate supports for the baby bath to be securely held over a family bath.
  3. 3. A baby bath support according to preceding claims which comprises certain supports to be adjustable for a secure fit onto most family baths.
  4. 4. A baby bath support according to preceding claims which comprises certain adjustable supports to securely hold most makes of baby bath.
  5. 5. A baby bath support according to preceding claims which comprises of a least one adjustable strap running underneath the baby bath secured to supports to add strength to the support of the baby bath.
  6. 6. A baby bath support according to preceding claims which comprise of materials to prevent movement of supports and scratching to family bath.
