Abstract

A foldable wardrobe with fold down shelves and locking bars. The sides, shelves and doors are hinged together. The wardrobe can be flat packed and may be manufactured from wood, plastic or metal or any combination thereof. No tools are required for the assembly of the finished wardrobe.

No Tools Required flat packed wardrobe This wardrobe has been made and is

fully functional. The wardrobe is a full size double wardrobe complete with hanging rail and top shelf. The wardrobe comes in flat-pack form and can be assembled with no tools in a fraction of the time of the current flat pack wardrobe's available The wardrobe comes flat packed measuring just over 800mm wide, a little under 1900mm tall and 150mm in depth. In five steps it can be fully assembled to form a full size double wardrobe this is made possible by the use of various hinges and locking bars that will hold the wardrobe in a ridged assembled position. It could be manufactured in most finishes (beach, oak effect etc); this wardrobe can be assembled with little or no practical experience and would be supplied with an instructional DVD of video. It would be especially beneficial when moving as it can be restored to flat pack form just as easy as it was assembled, making it particularly appealing to those in the furniture profession.

7/12:- Gives a detailed drawing of the proposed locking bars (detailed LB1, LB 2 and LB 3 in previous drawings) it also gives details of the plate CL) as detailed in drawing 11/12 8/12:- Is a view of the wardrobe as assembled showing the position of the 3 locking bars (LB1, LP2 & LB3). These are the bars that give the wardrobe its strength 9/12 & 10/12:These drawings (fig 10, 12 & 13) give details of how the wardrobe should be assembled.

Lift the sides as in fig 10 to the vertical position, Lift shelves A, Band C as in fig 12 and position into dowel as in fig 13. Install locking bars (LB1, LB 2 & LB 3) as in fig 14 (see drawing 7/12 for more detail) Flip over doors as fig l5and lift into upright position 11/12:- Is simply an exploded view showing various parts of the wardrobe 12/12:- Fig 16, 17 & 18 simply gives examples of the various finishes that could be available (this is not exhaustive)

Claims (7)

1. I. A full size wardrobe consisting of a back two sides and two folding doors
2. 2. A wardrobe as claim 1 that can be assembled from flat pack form by folding up the sides and folding down the internal shelves without the use of additional tools
3. 3. A Wardrobe as claim 1 or claim 2 where 3 internal brackets form the stability of the wardrobe.
4. 4. A Wardrobe as claimed in the preceding claims where one of the brackets as claim 3 is used as a hanging rail
5. 5. A Wardrobe as claimed in the preceding claims that is capable of holding items of clothing towling items of foot wear of any combination of these items.
6. 6. A wardrobe as claimed in the preceding claims that is made from wood plastic metal composite materials or from any combination of these materials.
