Abstract
A disposable liner for a decorator's paint scuttle is shaped to conform to the shape of the scuttle and may be made from biodegradable material. The liner may be secured around the top of the scuttle by means of a drawstring or twist tie 1. The same drawstring or tie may also be used to close and tie off the liner prior to disposal.
Description
Paint scuttle liner This invention relates to a disposable liner for
decorators paint scuttle.
When a decorator carries out a contract where several paint colours are used(For example, full new build interiors, where every room is a different colour)severai paint scuttles will be required, which means all the scuttles will require cleaning, usually using harmful or toxic chemicals, that could, if health and safety advice is not adhered to, be emptyed into drains or watercourses.
There is also the possible problem of paint contamination if the scuttles are not cleaned correctly. This could result in a layer of paint remaining in the scuttle, and when new paint is poured in, it softens this layer of paint causing contamination, which could be transferred to the surface to be painted, on the decorators paintbrush or roller.
To overcome the need to use a number of paint scuttles and solve the problem of paint contamination, the present invention proposes a disposable liner that will be fitted inside the paint scuttle.
The disposable liner will mean only one paint scuttle will be required for the application of many colours and types of paint.
Unused paint can be poured back into a paint container without contamination.
Used liners will be able to be tied off, and can be disposed of at local authority special\hazardous waste sites.
The use of harmful or toxic cleaning chemicals will be reduced.
preferably, the liner will be made of biodegradeable material.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings: Figure 1, shows end, side and top view of a standard paint scuttle.
Figure 2, shows end, side and top view of the disposable liner.
Figure 1, shows the profile of a standard paint scuttle, the disposable liner will be formed to this profile as shown in Figure 2.
Figure 2, also shows the draw string or twist tie 1 which will secure the liner to the scuttle, and, tie off the liner for disposal. I_i
