Abstract
A solid state device of system level integration or system-on-chip (24) is provided comprising, in a single semiconductor chip, an embedded power management system (18) to cooperate with an external power source (16, 20). The semiconductor chip may comprise a plurality of system blocks and in which one of the system blocks is surrounded by a guard ring maintained at a higher voltage that the voltage supply to the system block. The embedded power management system may also comprise low drop out voltage regulators comprising an amplifier and feedforward paths feeding into the bias system of the amplifier. The power management system may be under the control of the digital core (10).
