Abstract

A horizontally and vertically adjustable car seat can be raised to an elevated position, preferably to a height of 43cm from the floor. The elevated position reduces stress on the hips and back of a user, particularly elderly users. The seat can be used in a car with a high roof level and having an adjustable steering arrangement to ensure that a fully personalised driving position can be adopted.
