Abstract

A device to secure large toolboxes on wheels to the floor to stop them being taken by theft. One part is secured to the bottom of the toolbox and another part is fixed to the floor. The two parts are secured together to prevent theft.

THE INSURANCE APPROVED TOOL BOX TO FLOOR SECURITY LOCK
FOP ALL WHEELED TOOL BOXES
The lock consists of plate that is bolted to the bottom of the tool box. From this plate hangs a metal ball or box section plate which is held up when not in use by a spring system.
The base part into which the ball or box section fits is held to the concrete floor by bolts. When the locking ball or box section enters the locking section it is held in place with a locking pin with an unlocking key.
The idea is that the tool box is held securely to the floor to meet with insurance compensation approval.
The design ref erance together with drawings are owned by Martyn Billings and Pete Farman.

    The SNAPLOCK is fitted to the bottom of wheeled toolboxes as USU in commercial garages and many factories. One part of the SNAPLOCK is secured to the floor of the workshop and the other to the wheeled toolbox. When necessary to secure the toolbox the two parts are lined up together and a locking pin or clasp is then put through both pieces to secure them as one piece and stop movement of the toolbox.
