Abstract

A re-sealable can cap 4 includes attachment means 6 for attaching a re-sealable can cap 4 to a tear-strip ring pull 2 on a can 1. A re-sealable can cap 4 which attaches to a tear-strip ring pull 2 on a can 1 which is then pressed into the entrance 3 of the can 1. The re-sealable can cap 4 can be attached to a key ring clip or holder 5 when not being used on a can 1.

Description

Can Cap This invention relates to a re-sealable can cap for a can that
uses a tear strip ring pull.
When a can with a tear-strip ring pull attached to it has been opened it is continuously open and unsealed from then on.
This means the contents in the can are susceptible to a lot of different things i.e.: the elements, insects, spillages and the dirt etc. When the can has been opened it is not easily portable to the user unless they are very careful when moving about it will spill.
To overcome these problems the present invention proposes a re-sealable can cap that attaches around the tear-strip ring pull on a can.
The re-sealable can cap is attached around the tear-strip ring pull on a can and seals the opening of the can.
When the re-sealable can cap is attached to the ring pull on the can they are both pressed down into the opening of the can and the contents of the can are sealed.
The tear-strip ring pull can cap will be tapered on one or both sides allowing for different can sizes and shapes.
When the re-sealable can cap is not attached to the tear-strip ring pull on the can it will be attached to a key-ring clip or holder making it conveniently portable and accessible to the user when not being used.
The re-sealable can cap could have a slight ridge or indentation on it so the can cap will be easier to re-open.
The re-sealable can cap can be put on a key ring clip or holder making the re-sealable can cap conveniently portable.
The re-sealable can cap will be made of either plastic, metal or any other suitable materials.
The re-sealable can cap will stop spillages coming from the can.
The re-sealable can cap will allow the can to be portable to the user without their attention.
The re-sealable can cap will stop anything going into the can.
The re-sealable can cap will also be able to be used if the tear-strip ring pull on the can is not attached to the can.
The re-sealable can cap will stop drinks going as flat.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings: - Figure 1 shows a can I with a tear strip ring pull 2 attached to it. The entrance of the can 3 has been opened.
- Figure 2 shows a re-sealable can cap 4 and a key ring clip 5 that the re-sealable can cap will be connected to when it is not being used to seal the can.
- Figure 3 shows the side elevation of a re-sealable can cap 4 and the entrance 6 for the tear strip ring pull 2, also the key ring clip or holder 5.
- Figure 4 shows a re-sealable can cap 4 attached to a tear strip ring pull 2 and sealing the entrance of the can 3.
- Figure 5 shows the re-sealable can cap 4 attached to the key ring clip or holder 5.
A re-sealable can cap 4 is fitted around the tear-strip ring pull 2 on a can 1 after the can 1 has been opened. It is then pressed down into the entrance 3 of the can 1 sealing the contents inside. The entrance 6 to the re-sealable can cap 4 will fit around the tear-strip ring pull 2 and the re-sealable can cap 4 will fit around a key ring clip or holder 5 when not in use on the can. The re-sealable can cap 4 will have the use of one or both sides for sealing the can 1.

Claims (8)

1 A re-sealable can cap that attaches around the tear-strip ring pull on a can and by pressing down seals the opening of the can.
2 A re-sealable can cap according to claim 1 that has an opening in the side of the re-sealable can cap allowing it to fit around the tear-strip ring pull on a can.
3 A re-sealable can cap according to claim 2 where the opening in the side of the re-sealable can cap can fit around a key ring clip or holder when not in use on the can.
4 A re-sealable can cap according to claim 1 where a seal the same size as the opening on the can will be on one or both sides of the re-sealable can cap.
A re-sealable can cap according to claim 4 where the seals can be of different sizes.
6 A re-sealable can cap according to claim 1 where a slight ridge or indentation in the re- sealable can cap will allow for easier opening of the can.
7 A re-sealable can cap according to claim 4 where the seals on the resealable can cap can be tapered allowing for different can size openings. 1+
Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows 1 A directly attachable re-sealable closure device for use on the inside end of a tear strip ring pull can including an attachable key ring clip or holder allowing the directly attachable re-sealable closure device to be conveniently portable when not in use on a can.
