Abstract
An exercise tricycle comprises a frame with one chain driven rear wheel (5 fig 1) and two free wheeling castors 2. A brake is fitted to the rear wheel. Two telescopic track rods 1 attach the tricycle to a freestanding weighted pivot 4, allowing the tricycle to travel in a circle. The castors are mounted on adjustable support struts3, enabling the tricycle to be tilted away from the vertical. A speedometer records the speed and distance travelled.

ROTATING EXERCISE TRICYCLE
This invention relates to a rotating exercise tricycle. Most exercise cycles are stationary hence any measurement of speed or distance is simulated and artificial. This invention travels along the floor or groundenabling its speedometer to record true speed and distance travelled. It replicates the action of a true cycle but can be ridden by a child or adult novice cyclist in complete safety. To achieve this result the tricycle is constrained to move in a constant circular path by means of two telescopic track rods attached to the tricycle and a freestanding weighted pivot resting on the floor. The invention is best described by referring to the accompanying drawing on which figures 1, 2 and 3 show side, front and plan view respectively of the assembled apparatus. Figure 1 shows the pedal operated rear driving wheel (5) and figure 2 shows the two free wheeling castors (2) supported by two adjustable struts (3). Figure 3 shows the two telescopic track rods (1) attached to the tricycle and to the freestanding weighted friction pivot (4). These telescopic track rods can be extended to enlarge Radius "A" (in figure 3) of the tricycle turning circle. The angle of tilt "B" of the tricycle can be alterred by adjusting the two struts (3) in figure 2.
Claims (1)
- Claim 1 A rotating exercise tricycle having one rear driving wheel and two free wheeling castors.Claim 2 A rotating exercise tricycle according to claim 1 having free wheeling castors mounted on adjustable support struts enabling the tricycle to be tilted away from the vertical position.Claim 3 A rotating exercise tricycle according to claims 1 and 2 having two telescopic extendable track rods and a free standing weighted pivot enabling the tricycle to rotate on any desired turning circle.Claim 4 A rotating exercise tricycle according to claims 1, 2 and 3 fitted with a speedometer to record speed and distance and a rear wheel brake for safe operation of the tricycle.
