Abstract
A device for the levelling of plaster or concrete on walls or floors comprises a float 8 fixed to a sliding mount 7 which acts about a bar 1. The bar is supported at opposite ends by mounting bases 4 with screw adjustable surface discs 3. The device is fitted with levelling bubbles 2. In use the device is to give linear spots on a wet mixture. Using the adjustable end bases to create the level required, the angled float is moved along the bar, from one end to the other, to spread and level the wet mix.
Description
SPOT LEVEL
This invention is a lightweight, convenient hand held device that is used for putting linear spots onto sub wall and floor surfaces, to achieve a flat finish.
The method of practice in the trade to date does not do this accurately. It is also time consuming and awkward. Due to the number of tools needed and more than one person may be required to achieve this particular part of the job. This is often then found to be inaccurate.
The object of this invention is to combine all aspects of tooling required. The device will be used for levelling and smoothing off plaster and sand/cement mixtures onto sub wall and floor surfaces to provide a linear spot. This will then guide you to create vertical, horizontal or gradated surface finishes accurately in the manner of being square and true.
Accordingly, this invention is to give linear spots of the wet mixture.
using the adjustable end bases to create the level required. The angled float, which is fixed to the sliding mount on the bar it is then moved from one end to the other to spread and even this wet mixture.
Preferably this device will be made from metal or plastic materials, but may be a combination of both these materials.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the Accompanying drawing in which: FIGURE 1 shows a plan view of the device; FIGURE 2 shows a side view of the whole device; FIGURE 3 Shows part of the device, which slides along the main bar; FIGURE 4 Shows part of the device, which aids to support and level the apparatus.
As shown in fig 1, the device comprises of a length of bar 1 with a sliding mount 7 And a float 8 attached. Adjustable end base 4 at either end of the bar 1.
Shown in fig 2 is the levelling bubble 2 on the bar 1 to enable accurate readings. Also Shown is the end base 4 which the adjusting screw 5 goes through. Attached to the Adjusting screw 5 is a turning surface disc 3.
Fig 3 shows the sliding mount 7 with the float 8.
Fig 4 shows the adjusting end base 4 with the adjusting screw 5 going through the middle. At the bottom a surface disc 3, can be used to rotate the screw 5 to the required level.
The sliding mount 7 can be moved from one end of the bar 1 to the other when the tool has been levelled using a combination of the levelling bubbles 2 and the adjustable end base fig 4. This could make good any unfmished and damaged existing wall and floor surfaces. Also can create level surfaces from new.
