Abstract
A method of using a writing implement or pen to inscribe a line on paper or a writing surface. Preferably a line or series of lines are created by applying force to one end of the pen. Lines may be created when the fingers are in contact with the pen or after release on a flat or slanting surface. The pen nib may be positioned on the paper at an angle less than 90 degrees. Force may be applied briefly to the pen causing it to glide across the paper and inscribe a line which continues after the pen is released before coming to rest. A series of lines may be created end to end. The method of pushing a pen may be used to play a game. The invention discloses a method of holding a pen, pushing it across a surface, observing its movement and inscribing lines.
Description
Pen Use Invention (pen-pushing) Novelty of Invention I method of holding a
writing tool (pen for example).
2 Method of propeling a writing tool (or pen) along paper (or writing surface) 3 Method of observing manner in which ink is inscribed on paper.
4 Type of inscription produced on paper (mostly straight lines, particular emphasis is Placed on continuous straight lines) Basic process include steps of positioning and pushing (with finger) pen. My invention comprise of two steps: First step is creation of marks or lines on paper, by holding pen, positioning pen on paper, pushing pen along paper (see Figure 1 b).
Second step is method of connecting marks by: 1 Repeating first step from end point of previously created mark or line.
See figure 2 Third step is the method of creating a series of marks on paper (or any writeable surface).
Pattern of marks created may be random or within a specific pattern.
The invention application is quite broad. It can be used for playing one dimensional paper games. See figure 3 Pen is positioned on paper (or writing surface) with nib (or tip) resting on paper (or writing surface). Pen is pushed at one end and is allowed to be propeled and come to rest (after inscribing line). z.
See figure lb Thumb and second finger used to hold pen.
First index finger used to propel pen along paper.
Pen positioned on paper at a reasonable angle (very much less than 900)* Please note different hands and finger combination may be used to push (and cause pen to glide along page).
Please note another interesting feature is manner in which pen is propeled along paper. One push from opposite end point of it (Pen would inscribe a line on paper (or other writing surface before coming to rest).
See Figure 2 Continuous inscription imply that second mark creation would start from end point of First mark creation.
See Figure 3 Idea of game to avoid shaded area and use pen pushing to get from start point to finish point. 3.
Claims (1)
- List of claims I Invention for use of writing implement or pen to inscribeline on paper or flat writing surface 2 Line or series of lines created by application of Force to one end of pen or writing implement 3 Line or series of lines created by pen or writing implement inscribing line(s) during brief moment when finger(s) in contact with pen or writing implement 3b Line or series of lines created by pen or writing implement inscribing line(s) during brief moment when finger(s) not in contact with pen or writing implement.4 Claim for utility of pen inscription on flat or slanted writing surface.Invention embody method of Positioning pen or writing implement tip (nib) or ink secreting end on paper at an angle less than 900 (see figure 1 b) 6 Invention embody method of brief application of force (by pushing with index finger or one finger) at one end of pen or writing implement whilst holding pen with other fingers.6b Applicaj of force at Opposite end of pen (nib) cause pen or writing implement to glide over paper inscribing line 6c Pen or writing implement continue to glide along paper even when released from finger(s) grasp and continue to inscribe line before coming to rest 7 Series of linear lines created, next line starting from end point of previous line (see figure 3) 8 Invention is applicable for gaming purposes, one, two or more players each playing with different color pens 9 Pen does travel to rest etching a line as a result of lateral force propulsion in accordance to law of physics.9b Force applied to one end of pen (not in contact with writing paper).Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows Claims 1 Invention for use of writing implement or pen to inscribe line on paper or flat writing surface.2 Line or series of lines created by application of force to one end of pen or writing implement.3a Line or series of lines created by pen or writing implement inscribing line(s) (on paper or flat writing surface) during brief moment when finger(s) in contact with pen or writing implement.3b Line or series of lines created by pen or writing implement inscribing line(s) (on paper or flat writing surface) during brief moment when finger(s) are not in contact with pen or writing implement.3c Line or series of lines created by application of force to one end of pen or writing implement (sequence prior to line or line(s) created are in a particular order as described by claims 2, 3a, 3b respectively).4 Claim for utility of pen inscription on flat or slanted writing surface.Invention embody method of positioning pen or writing implement tip (nib) or ink secreting end on paper at an angle less than 90 degrees ( see figure ib).6 Invention embody method of brief application of force ( by pushing with index finger or one finger at one end of pen (or writing implement) whilst holding pen with other fingers.6b Application of force at opposite end of pen (nib) cause pen or writing implement to glide over paper inscribing line ( see figure 2, Si).6c Pen or writin9 implement continue to 9lide along paper even when released from grip of finger(s) and continue to inscribe line before pen coming to rest (see figure 2, El).7 Series of linear lines created, next line starting from end point of previous line C see figure 3, 51, El, 52, E2, S3, E3, S4, E4).8 Invention is applicable for gaming purpose, one, two or more players each playing with different color pens. Invention also useful as short hand similar to Gregory (USA), Pitman (UK).9 Pen does travel to rest etching a line as a result of lateral force propulsion in accordance to law of physics.9b Force applied to one end of pen (not in contact with writing surface).
