Abstract

A security device is disclosed that comprises a rectilinearly sliding bolt 2 that may be received into a slotted hinged member 3 in a locked position. When the bolt is in the locked position, the end of the bolt 2 slides within the slot of the hinged member as the door is opened. The hinged member will then lift upwards as the door is opened. This permits opening of the door to a fixed distance only to prevent forced entry by an unauthorised person. The security device is fixed to the door-frame and door using screws 5. The device may be made from mild steel.

Description

Door Security Device This invention relates to a device to secure a door
when opened When a person opens an outside door, they are vulnerable to forced entry Devises currently on the market are easily overcome by force.
To overcome this forced entry, this invention locks the door to a set distance and is strong enough to resist force.
When the device is in the locked position it comes on automatically when the door is opened in one smooth action.
It is easy to operate and fit, easily adapting to left-hand or right-hand doors. Being made out of mild steel it is very strong.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings In figure 1, this shows the security device secured to the door frame by nut-bolt 4 and screws 5 The steel section 3 hangs on the hinged side of the door frame. The extra long special design push bar 2 is in the off position. Frame 1 is secured to the door by screws 5.
In figure 2, this shows that when the push bar 2 is in the on position slotted in section 3. Will automatic lock pivot into section 3 and lift up to take the door 7 and stop when required locked in position.
In figure 3, this is a plan looking from the top hinge section 3 is opened out and locking door 7 into position.
Push bar 2 cannot be moved back because the design of the end of the bar can only be moved back when the door is closed. This makes it safe, section 3 is anchored to door frame 6 to stop movement.
In figure 4, this is a plan looking from the top, showing special design bar 2 in the on position slotted into section 3. This s the ideal device to stop forced entr,r. Plastic packing 8 to line up push bar 2 Into section 3 can be cut to the size needed.

Claims (1)

  1. Claims 1 A security device comprising attachments are shaped hinge and
long push bar action pivot to lock into position channel 2 With push bar being extra long to pivot onto hinge section locks into position According to claim 1.
3 With shaped hinge anchored to door frame by special nut and bolt and screws with sliding channel to accommodate exa long bar. According claim 2.
4 Door can be locked into position at a minimum distance when opened inwards when security push bar is put in sliding channel hinge section The long push bar pivot into sliding channel when door is closed will activate into position if there is a forced entry.
6 When security bar is on position in channel no person or intruder can open the door from outside to gain entiy. Even when the door is opened to the minimum distance
