Abstract
A Multipurpose Barrow that comprises of a tubular frame 1, to which is attached one wheel to front 5 and two wheels towards the rear 3, a tapered edge base plate 2 is fixed to tubular frame, the frame will also have supports fitted 6 and 7. The barrow is suitable for transporting paving slabs, garden and building materials.
Description
Multipurpose Barrow.
This invention relates to the transferring and movement of paving stones, building and gardens materials.
Paving stones, garden and building materials are heavy, awkward and difficult to transport around homes, gardens and construction sites.
Using conventional methods can be time consuming, can cause damage to materials due to the rough terrain and may result in personal injury.
Statement of invention.
To overcome this the present invention proposes a three wheeled all terrain barrow with ground level platform, allowing materials to be slid or eased onto the barrow minimising lifting.
Advantages.
The multipurpose barrow allows materials to be transported in a simpler manner. Lifting, physical effort and exertion is reduced dramatically.
Items can be moved quicker and more efficiently thus saving valuable time and reducing labour costs.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings.
In figures 1 and 2 the plastic tubular steel frame is shown (1), which includes the plastic coated, steel base plate with tapered edges figure (2).
The base plate may be attached to the frame by means of welding or alternatively be bolted to the rear wheels Figure (3). Figure (3) will be fixed also by means of welding to the tubular frame. The wheels shall be fixed in such a manner, which allows the base plate to be just above ground level. The rear wheels shall be manufactured in plastic and fitted with pneumatic tyres although they could also be solid rubber. The rear wheels are attached in this way to ensure that the base plate dose not damage laid paving slabs.
The large front wheel figure (4) shall be manufactured from plastic although it could also be pressed steel. It shall have a pneumatic tyre, which will enable user to manoeuvre easily over rough ground and around tight narrow corners. The spindle wheel shall be fixed to the tubular frame by means of a moulded plastic bracket and galvanised bolts Figure (5).
Plastic coated steel supports shall be fixed to the main frame figure (6), by means of welding although they could also be bolted on with galvanised nuts and bolts. The fitting of these supports will add strength to the slab mover and will also prevent the frame from flexing.
Additional plastic coated steel supports shall be fitted figure (7). Again these shall be welded or bolted to the frame. These supports will prevent paving stones from slipping between frame.
Figure (8) shows handgrips, which shall be manufactured from plastic although they could also be rubber.

- Claims 1. A barrow for transporting and moving paving stones, garden andbuilding materials.
- 2. A barrow for transporting and moving paving stones, garden and building materials according to claim 1, in which the barrow has one wheel to the front and two wheels towards the rear.
- 3. A barrow for transporting and moving paving stones, garden and building materials according to claim 1, in which the barrow has a base plate with tapered edges.
- 4. A barrow for transporting and moving paving stones, garden and building materials according to claim 1, in which the barrow has supports to add strength and prevent flexing.
- 5. A three wheeled, all terrain, ground level platform barrow for transporting and moving paving stones, garden and building materials according to any of the preceding claims which has supports fitted to prevent movement of paving stones.5. A three wheeled, all terrain, ground level platform barrow for transporting and moving paving stones, garden and building materials according to claim 1, in which the barrow has supports to add strength and prevent flexing.
