Abstract

An excrement collector comprises two members each consisting of a wide jaw portion and a handle portion which are pivotally interconnected at a point between those portions of each by a plastics spring clip. The jaws are thus biased towards closure with the handle ends wide apart, so that the jaws can be opened by pulling the handles together as shown. The jaws may have complementary serrated edges. The handles may comprise non-slip thumb grips. The collector may be made of 3mm thick plastics reinforced for strength. It may be used with a plastics bag and a supply of such bags may be provided between the jaws.

CANINE EXCREMENT PICK-UP AND DISPOSAL APERTURE

This project is a canine excrement pick up and disposal device The name used for the device - Scoop-a-do We have researched all the products in the market at present and it is our openion that the plastic used is an inferior quality that will distort in a very short space of time as it is a very flimsy material used in most cases 1mm thick and a very delicate hinge that is easy to break.

The plastic we are using in our product is 3mm thick all over also the body and handles are re- inforced and spot welded in order to keep its shape and last many years.

Most of the products we have examined is half the size of our product as there is different dog size excrement we feel the products out in the market inadequate to address this problem it is necessary to cater for all dog owner with the correct size product to make it simple to use the scoop.

Our most important consideration is to make a very strong product that will function and last many years if it is used in the correct manner.

It is our openion in order to get dog owners using the scoop every day the product must be designed to operate in a simple way and look very attractive and the weight size and shape is easy to carry and most important that human hands must never make contact with the bag of excrement once used.

Our decision to design and manufacture this product is to make a superior quality scoop that will function in such a simple affective way that will be a pleasure for dog owners to use every day and be long lasting and sell at a very competitive price so the customer is satisfied and is getting real value for money.

Canine excrement pick up and disposal aperture The name of our product is called Scoop-A- Doo This invention relates to a dog excrement Poop Scoop of the type which is used in conjuntion will a poop scoop bag The Poop a scoop is made of a very strong plastic and the thickness of the plastic is 3mm all around The scoop and handles is spot welded and reinforced to give the scoop extra strength.

A canine poop scoop comprising of 2 wide angle scoops a handles joined together forming 1 piece by use of a very strong hinge clip giving it the cantilever action needed for the user to effectively pick up any size dog excrement with the help of the non slip thumb grips and then return the poop poop to its locked position allowed by the unique design of the thum grips when they are realeased the thumb grips work by squeesing them together to open the scoop and then return the poop-a-scoop to its locked position alowed by the unique design of the thumb grips to be realesed this action will hold the bag contents firmly in place until ready to dispose of bag.

The scoop has a serated edge in the shape of finger grips 7mm long in order to pick up the excrement and hold the bag in place the rest of the scoop is in a very smooth finish in order to realese the bag of excrement without any human contact with bag after it is used.

1 months supply of bags is placed inside scoop with a serated edge to tear of bag as required.

The scoop is placed on a backing board with full instructions of use with a euro hole for display purposes and al of this incased in a plastic sleeve (transparent) to protect the scoop and to make it instantly recognizable what the product is used for.

The finished size of the scoop will be 225mm wide by176.75 height.

The mouth of the scoop used for pickup open wide to 75mm and in a closed position the mouth of the scoop is 67mm.

The plastic non cling bag that will fit inside the scoop is 175 height by 325 wide.

Claims

A canine poop scoop comprising of 2 wide angle scoop ends and handlesjoined together forming one piece by use of a living clip whose cantilever action is needed for the user to effectively pick up any size dog excrement with the help of the non-slip thumb grips and then return the poop scoop to its locked position allowed by the unique design of the thumb grips to open scoop place bag inside and pick up excrement.

When the poop scoop is turned to the closed position the contents are held firmley inside the scoop in a plastic bag to realese the contents and bag it is necessary to squeeze the handles together this action makes the jaws open wide and realese the bag of excrement
