Abstract
A transparent instrument panel includes an instrument panel in the mirror image with indicators of light reflecting colours on a dark none reflecting background, which is placed near the edge of the wind screen or guard or shield at an angle to the screen to give a reflection of the instrument panel in both light and in darkness without obscuring vision through the screen.
Description
TRANSPARENT INSTRUMENT PANEL
This invention relates to the placement or position of an instrument panel on road vehicles, aircraft trains, boats or machine guards the wind screen or shield made of glass or plastic, is used to reflect the instrument panel with warning lights speed indicators, without obstructing vision through the screen or guard.
The transparent instrument panel is a mirror image of an instrument panel with indicators having light reflecting colours on a dark none reflecting
background, preferably mat finish, this is placed
at the oporator, pilot, drivers side of the screen, near to the edge of the screen or guard at an angle to the wind screen, both angle and position can be adjusted.
A translucent illuminated panel for use in darkness, is illuminated through a capillary filter.
The invention will now be described solely by way of example and reference to the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 shows the position of the transparent instrument panel in relation to the wind screen of a motor vehicle, with adjustments.
Figure 2 shows the transparent instrument panel used in darkness.
Figure 3 shows the transparent instrument panel used with a machine shield placed at the vertical edge of the shield on the operators side of the shield.
In figure 1, day light 3 enters the wind screen 2,and passes onto the transparent instrument panel 1 and reflected onto the wind screen 2, which in turn is reflected to the eye 4, and noted. Light coming from objects 5, ahead of the wind screen 2,also noted at the same time.
Figure 2 shows the illuminated instrument panel 1 being reflected from the wind screen 2 to the eye 4,and noted. Light 3 entering the wind screen 2 from objects 5, which is also noted at the same time.
Figure 3 shows light from the illuminated instrument panel 1, positioned at the side of a shield 2, being reflected from the shield 2, and noted. Light 3 coming from the machine 5, also noted, both at he same time.
Claims (8)
1. A transparent instrument panel which reflects light on to a wind screen or guard without obstructing the vision through the screen.
2. A transparent instrument panel which can be observed simultaneously as the course ahead.
3. A transparent instrument panel with angle adjustment to the screen.
4. A transparent instrument panel which can be re-positioned along the edge both vertical and horizontal and near to the edge of the screen.
5. A transparent instrument panel which can be seen in light and darkness without obscuring the vision through the screen.
6. A transparent instrument panel which can be seen simultaneously with the course ahead using only partial eye movements.
7. A transparent instrument panel which is illuminated in darkness and a capillary filter used to reflect the indicators onto the screen.
8. A transparent instrument panel which can be used to transmit information from a global positioned satellite navigation to give advanced warnings of danger areas and speed limits on the course ahead as well as navigation aid at the same time as seeing the course ahead without loss of vision.
