Abstract

A ski boot jack has a base that is fixed in a solid position and has an adjustable cradle 2 to hold the front peg of the ski boot and a releasable clamp to hold the rear peg of the ski boot. In use the front ski boot peg is placed into a cradle 2 and the heel of the boot is pushed down onto the spring loaded releasable clamp 4. As the heel of the boot is pushed downwards the clamp 4 moves backwards until the peg of the boot passes beneath the clamp 4, the clamp then springs forward thereby securing the ski boot in the jack. The skier may now move their leg back and forth to open the ski boot. To remove the ski boot the spring loaded clamp 4 is released by moving a manual lever 5 that is connected to the clamp. The cradle is adjustable to allow various boot sizes to be held by the jack.

Description

DESCRIPTION. SKI BOOT JACK
This invention relates to removing ski boots from your feet.
Ski boots have to he a firm snug lit around your feet, ankles and lower leg and because of this snug fit they are very awkward and difficult to remove.
This ski boot jack consists of 5 key items.

The drawing indicates this.
All ski boots are made with a protruding rectangular peg at the front and rear. This ski boot jack makes use of these pegs to hold the ski boot in a solid position.
The base I would be fixed in a firm position, so that the whole boot jack could not move. The cradle 2 is adjusted to suit different boot sizes. The front peg of the ski boot is located inside the cradle 2. Using item 3 the heel of the ski boot is guided into position to place the peg at the rear of the ski boot onto the angled ramp area of the item 4 the ramp and slide one piece unit.
The heel of the boot is now pushed downwards to locate on the rest bar of item 3.
While travelling downwards the peg at the rear of the ski boot acts on the ramp area of iten-i 4 and pushes item 4 back honzontaj ly.
Eventually the ski boot rear peg travels past the underside of item 4 and a spring pushes item 4 forward to hold the lop side of the peg. The ski boot is now held firm.
The skier can now move his leg back and forth to open the ski boot and remove his foot.
The lever item 5 is connected to item 4. By pulling item 5 backwards item 4 moves backwards releasing the ski boot. When the lever 5 is released both items 4 and 5 spring back to their original position.
