Abstract

The economizer for heating small quantities of water adjacent to the point of use includes an electric water heater with a heat exchanger element, an on/off push button switch, and inline regulator valves. One valve is fitted to a cold water supply from a storage tank or mains supply. The other valve is fitted to a pipe to supply hot water for a basin/bidet etc. The regulator valves allow adjustment of water flow rate irrespective of water pressure. An overheat relay isolates the electric supply in the event of water overheating. A warning light indicates when the electric supply is connected to the heat exchanger element.
