Abstract

241,764. Mattiebe, F. C. Jan. 14, 1925. Stud-and-socket fastenings. - Each of the opposing flaps of a boot &c. carries a series of resiliently mounted fastening members, the stud members 5 on the one flap locking in the aligned slots 13 on the other flap. If the mountings of one series of members is made sufficiently resilient, the resilient mountings of the opposing members may be omitted. A cover flap 16 may be sewn to one of the flaps to conceal the fastening members. The members 5 are shaped as shown in Fig. 5, with upper and lower stems 6, 7 connected by a neck 8. The shorter stems 7 are inserted in the vertically arranged slots 13 by turning the members 5 on their resilient mountings 1 and, when released, the members 5 spring back to the fastening position shown in Fig. 5.
