Abstract

An indicator to identify, an individual drinking vessel comprises a plurality of coded tabs which can be individually extended by pulling an exposed end of each (as at 3), and a single tab (eg extending at right angles to the coded tabs) which can be pulled to retract all of the extended coded tabs. It is adapted to be attached to the side of a drinking vessel, eg by means of adhesive on a rear surface of the indicator which can be exposed by peeling off of a backing. Each retracted coded tab has two bends creating a kink (as at 4) which stores the additional length by which it can be extended. The retracting tab is connected to all of the coded tabs. The coded tabs may be colour coded and/or bear different symbols. These can vary from one indicator to another, and the body of various indicators can also be of different colour.

Drink Indicator: This invention relates to helping people using identical drink holders ( bottles / cans etc. ) and helps identify them from other peoples.
When drinking in a bar or club you frequently leave your drink unattended or place it next to a similar looking one. Inevitably confusing your drink with someone else's To overcome this, the present invention proposes a device which securely sticks to the drink holder and has different tabs which, when pulled extract slightly and indicate the tab of choice. This can be colour coded or come in different symbols. An additional tab is attached to the tabs which retracts all tabs back in.
The different coded tabs will allow for a number of drinks being next to each other with the reduced chance of being mixed up accidentally and drunk by the wrong owner. One or more tabs can be pulled to custom a variation. The shell itself can also come in different colours and increase the number of variations.
The bottom tab which retracts all tabs, for use after the drink is finished and you are wanting it void ready for the next.
Here is an example of the invention which will be described by referring to the accompanying drawings: Figure 1. shows the drink indicator as it would be before any action.
Figure 2. shows the drink indicator with a "tab" at full extent and also the kink used in achieving the extension.
Figure 3. shows the skeleton of the drink indicator Figure 4. shows the drink indicator with the bottom tab pulled retracting all pulled tabs.
Page 2.
Detailed description:
In (figures.) The drink indicator is shown with the coded tabs 1. sitting untouched protruding from a slit in the shell. And the retracting tab 2. sitting out the bottom.
In ( figure 2.) A tab is shown pulled 3. and folds out flat extending out, also shown is the kink used to achieve the extension 4.
In ( figure 3.) The skeleton of the drink indicator is shown with the kinks usually hidden 5. The coded tabs are also shown connected to the retracting tab 6. which forms the spine ofthe indicator In ( figure 4.) The retracting tab has been pulled 7. and all other tabs are pulled back into the shell.

Claims (6)

  1. Page 3.
Claims I. A drinks indicator which attaches to the side of a drinks container, indicating which drink is yours using coded tabs that can be pulled to extract slightly and a single tab which retracts all.
  2. 2. A drinks indicator according to claiml, in which the drinks indicator can be attached to the drinks holder using an adhesive back which can be pealed to attach.
  3. 3. A drinks indicator according to claiml, in which the coded tabs can be pulled to extract slightly more than the others.
  4. 4. A drinks indicator according to claim 1, in which the retracting tab is connected to all tabs, so when pulled retracts all.
  5. 5. A drinks indicator according to claim 3, in which the coded tabs can come in different colours or symbols which personalise the drink indicator to the drinker.
  6. 6. A drinks indicator according to claim 3, in which the coded tabs are designed with 2 bends creating a kink and storing the extended part of tab.
