Abstract

A disposable trowel or spatula 1,2,3 for finishing sealant filled joints comprises an elongate strip of semi-rigid material having at least one end 1b of semicircular shape. The trowel may be made from wood or plastics and preferably has a non-stick silicon coating. A set of different sized trowels may be provided and may be packaged with a sealant dispenser 5,7 and a set of user instructions. The trowels may include branding in the form of labels or printed matter [Figure 3]. The trowels may be 1.5mm thick and have widths of 5mm, 10mm and 17mm.

24 1 4763 A Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel FIELD: The present

invention relates to a Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel for easy, quick, precise, neat, smooth cleaning, spreading and finishing of sealants to fill / seal gaps between tiles and bath, basin, sink and other building fixtures like windows and window frames, roof lights and ceiling.

EXISTING STATE OF THE ART

DIY TREND: At present there is an ever increasing trend around the world to Do It Yourself, and the DIY industry is expanding in leaps and bounds with Do-lt-Yourselvers carrying out all manner of tasks including installing their own bathrooms, kitchen sinks, windows entailing use of gap sealants.

PRIOR ART DRAWBACKS

A whole new range of products have recently emerged dedicated to catering for the DIY trade, however, unfortunately not all of them are supplied complete with dedicated specific tools and dedicated user instructions for use with specific products, particularly for "Gap Sealants" - no Professional Finishing Tools - such as a Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel for easy, quick, precise, neat, smooth cleaning, spreading and finishing of sealants to fill / seal gaps on building fixtures.

NO PRODUCT AVAILABLE: At the time of filing, no Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowels are available, supplied with named usage identifying means, nor set of dedicated trowel user instructions, on packaging nor dispensing container as described in this citation.

INVENTIVE STEP / OBJECT The inventive step of the present invention is to overcome the shortcomings of non availability of the present state of the art, by providing a Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel for easy, quick, precise, neat, smooth cleaning, spreading and finishing of sealants to fill / seal gaps on building fixtures, supplied with named usage identifying means, preferably with dedicated trowel user instructions, on packaging, and sealant in dispensing container.

NO ANTICIPATIONS - RE-EMPHASIS

To re-emphasise the inventive step of the present invention that no anticipations exist, (at time of first filing patent) if one presently sought after Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel (for easy, quick, precise, neat, smooth cleaning, spreading and finishing of sealants to fill / seal gaps on building fixtures), supplied with named usage identification, or set of dedicated trowel user instructions, on packaging, or sealant in dispensing container from shops and sealant vendors, the present answer - (before date of] st filing) is, "Sorb! No such product exists" as described in this citation.

A Patent Search and Product Search on Web Databases produced no anticipations of the Present Invention.

Summary of the Invention: - Dedicated Disposable Specifically Shaped Sealant Trowel, (for easy, quick, precise, neat, smooth cleaning, spreading and finishing of sealants to fill / seal gaps between tiles and bath, basin, sink and other building fixtures), comprises a long, thin, flat, rectangular strip, having blended semi-circular ends, of diameter equal to width, made of semi-rigid material (preferably wood), supplied with named usage identifying label means, e.g. - ("Disposable Sealant Trowel), packaging means, set of sealant trowel user instructions and sealant in a dispensing container.

REFERENCE TO DRAWINGS: Fig. I is an Illustration of a preferred packaged embodiment of the present invention showing 3 sizes of Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowels with named usage labels, on each trowel, "named usage"- printing on the packaging, and sealant dispenser.

Fig. 2 is a 3-D Perspective Illustration of the same preferred packaged embodiment of the present invention showing 3 sizes of Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowels, the packaging, and sealant dispenser.

Fig 3 is shows three sizes of Disposable Sealant Trowels each with "named usage identifying labels" as claimed, (illustrated also in 3-D perspective) without packaging.

DESCRIPTION

1. Referring to Figures 1, 2 & 3, illustrating preferred embodiments of the present invention there is provided a Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel for easy, quick, precise, neat, smooth cleaning, spreading and finishing of sealants to fill / seal gaps on building fixtures, comprising preferably three sizes of a specifically shaped sealant trowels, 1, 2 & 3, each comprising a long, thin, flat, rectangular strip, having blended semi-circular ends, 1 b, of diameter equal to width, made of semi-rigid material supplied with named usage identifying means, In, 2n & 3n, packaging means, 4, set of dedicated trowel user instructions - not shown, and sealant in a dispensing container, 5.

2. The preferred three sizes of strips, 1, 2 & 3, are:- a first strip having an overall length of 145mms, 1 7mm width and I.5mm thickness, a second strip having an overall length of 125mms length x 10mm width and l. 5mm thickness, and a third strip having an overall length of 135mms, 5mm width, and 1.5mm thickness.

3. The strips, 1, 2 & 3, are optionally provided with a non-stick coating, preferably a silicone coating.

4. The material means includes plastic and preferably wood.

5. The named usage identifying means, includes "named usage" - labelling and printing on the Trowel itself, I n, 2n & 3n, and preferably "named usage" printing on the packaging, 4n; the "earned usage" includes words "Disposable Sealant Trowel" and preferably applicant's brand name "Silistick A", 4s.

6. The packaging means includes cartons, bubble packs, and key holed, 4k, semi- displayed card embodying clear transparency blister packaging, 4, for hanging on shop display rods and stands.

7. The set of dedicated user instructions include instructions printed on:- a sheet of paper, a card, dispensing containers, and preferably back of packaging - not shown.

8. The user instruction means include instructions on how to "apply and spread a continuous line of said sealant along joint to be sealed", instructions how to "place trowel at about a 45 degree angle to smooth sealant joint', instructions on how to "clean Trowel with wiping means when sealant builds up on Trowel", instruction how to "use Trowel in both directions", instructions how to "remove excess sealant", and instructions on how to obtain a "smooth tidy and neaten wish" - not shown.

9. The dispensing container means include all sealant dispensing containers, including preferably tube dispensing containers, 5, fitted with special purpose silicone tube dispensing nozzle, 6 and Plunger, 7.

10. Optionally the Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel and all the above mentioned items are also supplied with wiping means comprising a soft flexible disposable material including cotton, linen, and preferably disposable tissue paper- not shown.

Claims

CLAIMS: 1. A Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel for easy, quick, precise,

neat, smooth cleaning, spreading and finishing of sealants to fill / seal gaps on building fixtures, comprising (at least one and) preferably three sizes of a specifically shaped sealant trowel, said trowel comprising a long, thin, flat, rectangular strip having (at least one), preferably two blended semi-circular ends of diameter equal to width of said strip, said strip made of semi-rigid material means, said trowel supplied with named usage identifying means, (and optionally though) preferably packaging means, at least one set of dedicated trowel user instruction means, and sealant in a dispensing container means.
2. A Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel as in claim 1, wherein said preferred three sizes of strips are, a first strip having an overall length of 145mms, 17mm width and 1.5mm thickness, a second strip having an overall length of 125mms length x lOmm width and 1.5mm thickness, and a third strip having an overall length of 1 35mms, Smm width, and 1.5mm thickness.
3. A Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel, as in claim 2, wherein said strips are optionally provided with a non-stick coating, preferably a silicone coating.
4. A Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel, as in claim 3, wherein said material means includes plastic and preferably wood.

A Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel, as in claim 4, wherein said named usage identifying means, includes "named usage" labelling and printing means on said Trowel, "named usage" and preferably "named usage" printing on said packaging means, said "named usage" including the words "Disposable Sealant Trowel" and preferably the brand name "Silistick 03".
6. A Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel, as in claim 5, wherein said packaging means includes cartons, bubble packs, and key holed semidisplayed card and clear transparency packaging for hanging on shop display rods and stands
7. A Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel, as in claim 6, wherein said set of dedicated user instruction means include instructions printed on:- a sheet of paper, a card, said dispensing container means, and preferably back of said packaging means.

A Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel, as in claim 7, wherein said trowel user instruction means include instructions on how to "apply and spread a continuous line of said sealant along joint to be sealed", instructions how to "place trowel at about a 45 degree angle to smooth sealant joint", instructions on how to "clean Trowel with wiping means when sealant builds up on Trowel", instruction how to "use Trowel in both directions", instructions how to "remove excess sealant", and instructions on how to obtain a "smooth tidy and neater wish".
9. A Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel, as in claim 8, wherein said dispensing container means include all sealant dispensing containers, including preferably tube dispensing containers fitted with special purpose silicone tube dispensing nozzle.
10. A Dedicated Disposable Sealant Trowel, as in claim 9, optionally supplied with wiping means, said wiping means comprising a soft flexible disposable material including cotton, linen, nylon, micro fibre, and preferably disposable tissue paper.
