Abstract

A washing basket mountable to a pole 3 comprises a basket 1 with a bracket 2 allowing it to be detachably secured to the pole of a rotary clothes line. The bracket may contain a rubber insert to allow it to engage more readily with the pole and may be removed from the basket so that a plurality of baskets can be nested. When mounted on the pole, the basket is preferably inclined towards the user. The bracket is designed so that it may equally be used by those who are right- or left-handed. The washing basket mountable to a pole allows the user to attach the basket to the pole of a rotary washing line at a convenient height and eliminates the need to repeatedly bend down when transferring laundry items from the basket to the clothes line.

Description

ATTACHABLE WASH BASKET.
This invention relates to a wash basket which may be attached to a rotary washing line.
Wash baskets are well known, however they are usually placed at ground level making it necessary for repeated bending in transferring laundry from basket to line and vice-versa.
The main feature of this invention is to attach the basket to a rotary washing line at a convenient height and angle so avoiding the need to bend.
A prefered embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows a side view of the whole basket with bracket.
Figure 2 is a section showing the position of the attachment bracket around the stem of the rotary washing line.
Referring to figure I the invention consists of a basket 1 with a bracket 2 for attachment to a rotary washing line 3.
The bracket 2 contains an oval shape cavity and a gap to one side allowing entry of the supporting pole 3.
Figure 2 shows a plan view of the bracket supported on the pole and includes the rubber insert 5.
When the bracket is placed in position around the pole it is retained by the weight of the basket acting upon the two areas of contact 4 which in turn are aided by the rubber insert 5.

Claims (3)

1. An attachable wash basket including a gravity-lock bracket so enabling easy attachment to a rotary washing line.
2. A basket as claimed in claim 1 where the attachment bracket may be removable for the purpose of basket stacking.
3. A wash basket substantially as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
3. A basket as claimed in claim 1 or 2 where the attachment bracket may contain a rubber insert for added grip.
4. A basket as claimed in any proceeding claim which in the attached position is inclined toward the user.
5. A basket as claimed in any proceeding claim where the attachment bracket may be designed for left or right handed attachment.
6. A wash basket substantially as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows CLAIMS.
1. An attachable wash basket including a cantilever lock bracket which may contain a rubber insert for extra grip, so enabling quick and easy attachment/unattachment to And from the support pole of a rotary washing line.
2. A wash basket as claimed in claims which, in the attached position, is inclined towards the user.
