Abstract

A protective boot for use by dogs comprising a boot moulded from latex rubber lined with a muslin cloth. The boot, specifically made for dogs with a condition which causes the foot to be dragged on the ground, has a thicker layer of rubber 4 at the toe to withstand excess wear. The boot is fitted with laces or ties 2 to keep the boot in place. The boot may be made in differing colours to match the colour of the coat of the dog.

DOG PROTECTION BOOT
The Dog Protection Boot is mainly for the larger dog to make their life comfortable from the common disease, Chronic Degenerative Radiculomylopathy (C.D.R.M). A symptom cased by deterioration to the nervous system. In the early stages C.D.R.M starts with the rear right leg making the right foot to drag on the grounds which would damage the foot and claws, even cause pain to the dog. 'I'he idea of the boot being made out of a strong; material would protect the dog's foot and help the dog have a hefter quality of life.
The boot will now be described with reference to the drawing.
Figure I shows side view of the boot.
2 Laces or ties to help keep the boot on.
3 The lower part of the boot inside would be lined with a soft material for Farther strength.
4 Extra thickness of rubber for wear and tear.

  1. CLAIM
    1 The boot is made from Latex Rubber moulded from a plastic mould 2 'I'he boot is lined with a muslin cloth for added strength 3 The fastner at the back of the boot helps the boot to stay on the foot 4 The toe of the boot would be a thicker layup of rubber to outstand wear
