Abstract

A portable score indicator comprises a number of cards bearing indicia which are bound together so that they may be successively folded back to mark the score. The cards may be releasably attached to a piece of sports equipment such as a racquet cover using hook and loop material.

Description

RACQUET COVER SPORTS SCORER
This invention relates to a racquet cover that can be used as portable device that will enable scores to be recorded for a variety of sports/games.
The design of the Racquet Cover Sports Scorer can easily be adapted for use in a wide variety of sports and games eg badminton, squash, tennis etc. Sporting activities are by their very nature competitive and as a result it is not unusual for confusion to occur with regards to the state of play or score. This can lead to interruption, disagreements or arguments and as a direct result detract from the enjoyment of the game.
This device will enable the user - be it participating players, officials or spectators to maintain an accurate Word and follow the state of play as the game is in progress avoiding confusion and disagreement and thereby adding to the enjoyment of the game.
According to the present invention the Racquet Cover Sports Scorer will be manufactured on a material which is of a sufficient size and light enough to allow itself to be attached to a chosen piece of sports equipment e.g. racket cover, sports bag etc., or alternated, enable it to be rolled (like a towel) to enable it to be easily transported and positioned in a convenient and visible location causing minimum interference to the user while participating in a sporting activity.
The proposal is to have the Racquet Cover Sports Scorer installed Ancorporated onto a racket cover etc., as an integral piece of equipment during its manufacture.
It is envisaged that the Racquet Cover Sports Scorer should have the facility to incorporate additional functions e.g. names, time/date etc. A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure I shows the Racquet Cover Sports Scorer with a sports racquet inserted: Figure 2 illustrates a display panel secured in position by means of hook and loop fasteners; Figure 3 shows Racquet Cover Sports Cover attached to net post and netting by means of hook and loop straps.
Referring to the drawing the Racquet Cover Sports Scorer comprising of a racquet cover body to which provides a base for display panels 12.
At various positions around outside of cover securing straps 14 are provided.
In order to display desired score, display panels 12 are selected and secured in position by means of hook and loop fasteners 15.
In order to identify respective teams/players, display panels 12 are coloured differently to prevent confusion.
In order to secure Racquet Cover Sports Scorer in a convenient and prominent position securing straps 14 are provided.
When not in use the securing straps 14 can be affixed on the back of racquet cover.
In order to transport Racquet Cover Sports Scorer a racquet 16 can be inserted.

Claims (4)

  1. I A Racquet Cover Sports Scorer comprising of a racquet cover, which provides a base for display panels which provide a chosen reading selected by the user.
  2. 2 A Racquet Cover Sports Scorer as claimed in CLAIM 1 wherein display panels are held into position by means of hook and loop attachment.
  3. 3 A Racquet Cover Sports Scorer as claimed in CLAIM 1 or CLAIM 2, wherein display panels are attached to base, which can be used also as a racquet cover and manufactured to allow an hinge movement.
  4. 4 A Racquet Cover Sports Scorer is claimed in CLAIM 1 or CLAIM 2, wherein the display panels are provided to allow easy removal to facilitate repair replacement, cleaning etc.
