Abstract
A seat cover for a dining chair is waterproof and made of a plastics material. The cover can either be transparent or have various designs. It may have an elasticated underbelly 2 to grip onto the dining room chair. It has an adjustable fastening which is preferably a stud 6 on an elastic tab 4 which stud can engage with one of three stud receiving parts 1.
Description
SEAT COVER
This seat cover is to be waterproof and adjustable to fit over various sized seats on dining chairs.
This seat cover is to address the issue of spillages on fabric covered seating. It is designed with young children in mind. Once a child is too old for a highchair, they tend to use the same dining chairs as adults.
However, food or drink spillages can be frequent and may ruin the fabric on said dining chairs. This design can also avoid damage to the dining suite trom 'accidents' whilst toilet training, as well. Reupholstering or complete replacement can be avoided by using this product.
The objective of this design is to provide a waterproof seat cover, which shall be easy to wipe clean. It protects the seating from both food and drink spillages, as well as toilet training accidents.
This invention provides a waterproof seat cover made from a transparent or patterned plastic material. It has an elastic component that attaches to three metal studs to fit alternative seat dimensions.
The plastic used should be pliable and fairly soft so that it is comfortable for the child to sit upon.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: FIGURE 1 shows a view of the invention alone. The plastic material with adjustable elastic and stud fastening at the rear end of the invention; FIGURE 2 shows a view of the invention attached to a dining chair, FIGURE 3 shows an up close drawing of the proposed adjustable component.
As shown in FIGURE 1, part 3 is the actual waterproof plastic main body itself. Section 2 is the elasticated underbelly, which attached to the underside of the dining chair at the front and down the side. Part 4 illustrates the elasticated, adjustable component, which has the stud attachment. Section 6 shows the first part of the stud fasterining, the receiving part. Section 1 finally shows the second part of the stud fastening which has three differing measurements for three sizes of chair.
As shown in FIGURE 2 we have a dining chair with the seat cover in place. In 1, we see the chair itself, in 2 the Masticated underbelly which attached to the underside of the chair. In 3 we see the waterproof cover itself and in 4 the end part of the elastic adjustable tab.
As shown in FIGURE 3 we see a close up of the adjustable elastic fitting.
In 4 we see the elastic itself. It should be attached to the invention just around the corner at the back side. 6 depicts one part of the stud fastening, the receiving part. Section 1 shows the three alternative options for the stud fitment. This part would be attached around the other corner at the back side of the invention.
