Abstract

240,704. Harper, J., and Harris, W. Feb. 3, 1925. Shuttles. - To facilitate threading, the eyelet in the side of the shuttle is formed by a semi-circular groove 15 formed in a metal block 2 and adapted to co-operate with a part 13 of a pivoted cover 7. Upon raising the shuttle peg 12, a part 11 of the cover is engaged by the end of the peg to move the parts into the position shown. The cover is held in its closed position by a leaf spring or a spring-actuated ball-headed bolt. The lower part of the member 13 may have legs entering perforations on each side of the groove 15, or the groove may be substantially circular to co-operate with a semi-circular lower end of the member 13. The tension of the weft may be regulated by two felt pads.
