Abstract

240,520. Paora, R. June 26, 1924. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Indicating condition of tunnels, embankments, and the like.-A circuit-closing device for giving warning of landslips, flooding, &c. comprises a box-like base 11 having fixed contacts 12, 13 cooperating with contacts 15, 16 carried by a spring- supported vertically movable cover 14. The device is placed adjacent to the track. The contacts are closed by the weight of the obstruction &c. on the cover 14, or by water, completing the circuits through warning lamps &c. A circuit arrangement is described having red lamps at the ends of the obstructed section or other remote points, and a white light close to the contactcloser.
