Abstract

A hinge assembly comprises a first part 1 fixed to a door 6 and a second part 5 fixed to a jamb 7. The first part 1 includes a passage 11 in which a hollow shaft 2 is inserted and the second part 5 has a recess 51 in which one of three exchangeable core pieces 40 is inserted. A hinge-pin 3 includes a cylindrical section 30 and an elongate section 31. The cylindrical section 30 is inserted in the shaft 2 and the elongate section 31 is inserted in an eccentric slot of the core piece 40. The eccentric slots of the core pieces have different eccentricities so as to compensate the manufacturing tolerance of thickness of the doors.
