Abstract

A decorator's dust sheet, to serve as a protective floor covering whilst painting, comprises an absorbent fabric layer with a waterproof backing layer serving as a non-slip surface. The absorbent surface would soak up any spilled paint, while the waterproof backing would serve as a barrier preventing the paint from seeping through. This surface, which may be of a rubber composition, would also act as a non-slip surface ensuring the safety of anyone walking on the sheet.

SAFETY DUST SHEET
The invention relates to a paintersidecorators dust sheet of the type, which includes a safety rubber coating/layer on one side of a cotton/twill sheet.
Such protective sheets are wel]-known, but suffer from the disadvantage that, on surfaces such as laminate flooring, wooden flooring, tiled floors and other slippery types of floor; they can cause the ladder to move. Such sheets soak up most of the spilt paint but often, they can cause the paint to leak through to the caq?et/flooring below. Such sheets are accidentally removed from one room, put down in another room and the decorator hasn't a clue which side the wet paint is on, often causing considerable damage to the flooring below.
An object of this invention is to provide the painter/decorator with a safe, very protective and cost effective floor covering to use whilst painting.
Accordingly, this invention provides a very safe, protective and secure floor covering to prevent damage to flooring caused by paint spillage's and ensures the security of the painter by assuring him/her that the ladder The rubber would be coloured, red, as a safety aspect, the red mustn't be showing once the sheet is put down. The rubber would provide a secure grip to the flooring to prevent the ladder from slipping and again, causing considerable damage to the Third Parties Property and also to oneself.
The cotton/twill sheeting would prevent paint spillage's to floors, the safety rubber layer would enhance the protection whilst also providing a perfect grip to the floor.
Preferably' the Safety Sheet would need to be made of both rubber and cotton/twill.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in Rich: FIGURE 1 shows the sheet as it would laid out on a floor.
FIGURE 2 is a section of the Safety Sheet As shown in Figure 1, the Safety Sheet comprises a layer of cotton/twill (dust sheet) secured to a sheet of rubber.
Figure 2 is a section of the Safety Sheet showing the ratio of cotton to rubber.
The Safety Sheet will sit securely on any slippery flooring and will prevent any paint spillage to the floor below. cams
