Abstract

Pastes such as two component edible spreads, for example chocolate or peanut butter spreads, are dispensed for consumption in striped form. Dispensing may be from a sqeezable tube or pump dispenser. The components may be dispensed from separate compartments.

Description

'quest for grant of a patent 2402664
The description
There are brands of chocolate spread ( eg, Nuttella) on the market that are made with a striped pattern inside the jar it comes in, with one part milk chocolate paste [ref 1] and the other part white milky paste I white chocolate paste [ref. 2] There are also brands of peanut butter [ref 2] ( eg, Sunpat) on the market which contain mills chocolate paste arranged in a striped form inside the jar it comes in.
My invention / innovation solves the problem of trying to get the stripes in the jar to spread on to bread so the striped pattern is not lost in the spreading process. My invention will also enable the striped pattern will not be lost on any surface the above described condiments are put on to.
À One way that this can be done, is to manufacture the striped chocolate pastes so they are inserted into laminated plastic tubes which are squeezable and collapsible [ref 3], in which striped toothpaste comes in ( SEE FIGURES I and 2) . The chocolate / white chocolate paste will come out striped when the tube is squeezed.
À There is also a different method of manufacturing the striped chocolate pastes in to the squeezable tubes that toothpaste comes in, so the stripe is still visible when the striped two- coloured chocolate paste is squeezed out ( SEE FIGURES 3 and 4) . This method uses a barrier [ref 4] to separate the two types of paste. There are two areas inside the tube. One holds the chocolate paste and the other (smaller) area holds the white milky paste. As the chocolate paste leaves the tube, it passes through a tube that has four small holes in it [ref 5]. These holes let the white paste in and it comes out striped.
À The striped chocolate / white chocolate pastes can also be manufactured in to the toothpaste tubes that have a pump mechanism [ref 6] on them (SEE FIGURES 5 and 6) . This can be known as an automatic toothpaste dispenser. This will also ensure that the paste comes out in a two- coloured striped pattern.
The pump works because when the button is pressed it pushes an internal, grooved rod down the tube. Near the bottom of the rod is a piston, supported by small metal flanges called "dogs", which sit in the grooves on the rod. As the rod moves down, the "dogs" slide out of the groove they are in and click into the groove above. When the button is released, the spring brings the rod back up carrying the piston with it, now seated one notch higher. This pushes one-notch's-worth of striped paste out of the nozzle.
À A new type of container made of glass or plastic, which also has a pump mechanism on it can also be manufactured ( SEE FIGURES 7 and 8) . This would be a different shape to the tube shape that has been described above and would need a different type of process to get the two-coloured, striped chocolate paste in to the container during manufacture. This could for example be a cone shaped container [ref 7] made of glass or plastic.

À The new type of container made of glass or plastic with a pump mechanism, can also be manufactured with two separate compartments for the two types of paste. This will cause lip Sing Bedi Page I of I the twocoloured pastes to come out stripy when the pump mechanism is pressed ( SEE FIGURES 9 and 10) . There are two areas inside the container. One holds the chocolate paste and the other (smaller) area holds the white milky paste. As the chocolate paste leaves the container, it passes through a tube that has four small holes in it. These holes let the white paste in and it comes out striped À All of the methods described in the above five "bullet points" can also be used with a striped two-coloured, peanut butter and chocolate spread paste.
À All of the types of tubes and containers described and in the above "bullet points", and drawn in FIGURES 1 to 10 could also contain a nozzle [ref 8], with a thin slot shaped hole [ref 9] as apposed to a round hole, which would enable the paste to come out of the nozzle as a thin application, whilst keeping the striped appearance[ref 10] .This would make it easier to spread. The nozzle could be attached to the tube or container. The nozzle could also be detachable or unscrew-able from the tube or container for easy cleaning. This may also require a different type of lid to fit the nozzle. This type of nozzle is shown in FIGURE 11 and 12.

Claims (1)

  1. CLAIMS PAGE 3 1: A type of container for striped paste or multi - coloured
chocolate pastes ( which may be striped with peanut butter or "white milk" paste) which makes the paste come out in a striped pattern onto any surface, with the container incorporating one of several designs ( and a specifically shaped nozzle) to enable this effect.
2: A type of container as claimed in claim I where the container is a laminated plastic tube with a nozzle with the striped pastes arranged accordingly inside the tube.
3: A type of container as claimed in claim 2 where there is a specially adapted semi - penetrable barrier, which allows the two different pastes in the separate compartments to emerge from the tube in a striped pattern.
4: A type of container as claimed in claim 1 where the tube shaped container incorporates a dispensing pump mechanism to enable the striped paste to come out of the nozzle at the touch of a button.
5: A type of container as claimed in claim I, which is described as cone shaped and includes an ( automatic) dispensing mechanism manufactured onto the container in a viable way, with the striped pastes accordingly arranged inside the container.
6: A type of container as claimed in claim I which may be cone shaped and includes an ( automatic) dispensing mechanism manufactured to best fit the container, with the two pastes separated by a semi - permeable barrier within the container.
7: A type of container as claimed in any preceding claim which is made from plastics material, glass material or metal or from a combination of these materials.
8: A type of container substantially as here in described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
