Abstract

An adjustable joist hanger comprises an 'L' shaped strip of metal (Part A) with evenly spaced location slots which are lipped for easy location of a joist hanger support bracket with location hooks (Part B). In use the metal strip is attached to a structure e.g. a wall and the hanger is attached to the strip by the slots and hooks.

THE ADJUSTABLE JOIST HANGER SUPPORT BRACKET
The invention relates to an adjustable joist hanger support bracket of the type which is built into a support structure i.e. a wall.
Joist Hanger support brackets are normally made to suit each individual size of joist. They require a lot of storage space for all the different sizes, and ordering and maintaining stock levels of all sizes is difficult, plus the existing brackets are not adaptable on site.
This invention is adaptable/adjustable to suit various sizes of joist, therefore eradicating the need for many different sizes to be ordered, stored and carried around on site.
Preferably the joist hanger support bracket is made of steel/metal or such material that would comply with all safety requirements. The bracket is in two parts: - Part 'A' and Part 'B'.
Part 'A' Fig.1 - Is embedded into support structure i.e. a wall Fig.2 has evenly spaced location slots which are 'lipped' for easy location to accommodate/engage hooks as in Fig.4 on Part 'B'. This therefore enables the joist hanger support bracket to be adjustable.

Claims (1)

1/ An adjustable joist hanger support bracket of the type built into support structure i.e. a wall. Made in two parts (Part A and Part B) to facilitate adjustability for various size joists.
2/ An adjustable joist hanger support bracket (Part 'A') as claimed in Claim 1 which has evenly spaced 'lipped' location slots.
3/ An adjustable joist hanger support bracket (Part 'B') as claimed in Claim 1 and Claim 2 which has 2 (2 no) location hooks to engage into 'lipped' slots in Part 'A', to facilitate adjustability.
4/ An adjustable joist hanger support bracket as in previous claims and made from metal/steel or such material that would comply with all safety regulations.
5/ An adjustable joist hanger support bracket as described herein and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, which in adjustable to fit various size joists.
