Abstract

A bag 5 for the segregated collection of types of waste material for recycling comprises a series of compartments 6 which are separable along tear lines 7 therebetween. A drawstring 8 such as a plastics cord extends along the series of compartments adjacent to their mouths and can be used to close all the mouths (Figure 6). The string 8 can also be used to assist in holding the mouths on respective filling tubes (4, Figures 2 and 4) depending from inlet apertures 3 in a bin lid 2.

Description

2401 098 the R"c.ycle in.
The invention relates to a waste binwhich hen.-: lid with a number of holes in i1..lhese holes act as dividers for waste material.Once the waste has past through the dividers it will then fall into bag concealed in tree bin, which has a number of separate compartments to it.w1.'ich conceals the w-q.ete.
haste bins are rely.<no;nbut suffer from a disadvantage that when used they only collect mixed waste. This means that it is very difficult to divide different waste materiels for recycling.
The object of this invention is to divide and seperate retaste materials out into the waste binwhich will then pass into a bag that has sepera.te compartments to it.nis beg will then collect the divided waste which wild ther be separated into single bags oy tearing through the perforated lines running down the bagwhich can then be recycled very eacilv.
For eg;PAFER?'PLA>TIC,TI.N,GI.A: etc. The invention provides a recycleable waste bin which has a number of holes cut out of the lidwhich waste meterial.s can be passed through.
This waste then passes through into a sectioned bag SO that the seperated waste can be recycled very easily without no mess, which means a cleaner environment.
Hopefully this invention can be made out of either plastic orstainless steel materials which are both recycleable and friendly.
Drawings of this invention hats been provided and has been completed with reference numbers which show.

FIG 5 Shows how the bar with the seperate dividers will be Pulled togethe r and tied with the plastic cord to make the shape for the lid and dividers to fit into.
FIG 6:hows how the plastic cord can be pulled together around the bar to conceal the selective waste inside.

No 3 is the top of the circular divider which is the entrance.
(FIG 2 No 4)shows the bottom of the bin lid and the bottom of the circular divider THEN EXIT.
(i;'JG 3 No 5)shows the bag which has a number of circular dividers.
No 7 is where the bag has had perforated cuts down the bag so it can be torn easily into single bags for recycling.
no 8 is showing a continuous plastic cord passing through the top of the bag for tying and sealing the collected waste.
(FIG 5;(o, )shows how the bag can be pulled together to form the shape of the circular dividers in the lid of the bin.

Claims (9)

  1. Claims 1. A waste bag, comprising a plurality of compartments open at one
end, each compartment being connected to at least one other of the plurality of compartments by a tearable element extending at least partially along at least one edge of the compartment.
  2. 2. A waste bag as claimed in claim 1, where the testable element extends along the entire length of at least one edge of the compartment.
  3. 3. A waste bag as claimed in any previous claim, where the open ends of the plurality of compartments are closable by a single integral drawstring.
  4. 4. A waste bag as claimed in any previous claim, made from a recyclable material.
  5. 5. A waste bag as claimed in claim 4, made from a plastics material.
  6. 6. A waste bag as claimed in claim 4, made from paper.
  7. 7. A waste bin suitable for supporting a waste bag as claimed in any previous claim, where the waste bin includes means to support in use each of the open ends of the plurality of compartments in a substantially open manner so to allow ease of placing waste material in each compartment.
  8. 8. A waste bin suitable for supporting a waste bag as claimed in claim 7, comprising a planar element having a plurality of holes and a plurality of spigots elements attached to the planar element so that each spigot element coincides with one of the holes in the planar element, where the number and the dimension of each spigot is arranged to accept over its outer surface an open end of each of the plurality of compartments of the said waste bag.
  9. 9. A waste bin suitable for supporting a waste bag as claimed in claim 7 or claim 8, including an openable and closable lid.
