Abstract
A window blind comprises at least one panel having a frame <B>1</B> and a removable glass panel <B>2</B>. The blind may comprise a plurality of panels connected together to form a blind. The panels may be releasably connected to each other.
Description
WINDOW BLINDS
Ihis invention relates to window blinds Ordinary window blinds do not offer much scope for variation and are difficult to clean. To change them the whole blind must be taken down, and cleaning is time consuming, Venetian and vertical blinds requiring painstaking effort.
An object of this invention is to provide a blind which is easy to remove and to clean, and which can easily be changed.
According to the present invention there is provided an interchangeable set of coloured glass panels, each within a suitable frame, including a means for releasably securing panel within frame, and each frame connectable, if required, to provide a blind, each panel within it's frame to hang from a strong pole attached where ordinary curtain poles are attached on the internal wall above a window. Each panel Came can be disconnected from the others and from the pole from which they hang. Each panel frame being able to be dismantled to permit removal and interchangeability of decorative coloured glass panels, new glass panels being available.
Preferably the frame is made from wood or plastic materials or metal or from a combination of these matenals, the inner panel being coloured glass.
A preferred embodiment ofthe invention will now be described by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows a front view of a coloured Mass panel in frame.
Figure 2 is a side view of glass panel in situ within frame.
As shown in Figure 1, the blind comprises a coloured glass panel 2 within a frame 1, the panel 2 being releasably secured into the frame by a catch or similar means ( not shown). The blind, which is the glass panel 2 and it's frame 1, is releasably attached to the supporting pole ( not shown) by for example hooks and rings or by similar means ( not shown), and are detachable from the pole. Each blind can have removable attachments, for example, hooks and eyes, or similar means ( not shown) which can enable each to be connected to another if required. Each panel frame 1 pernuts removal and interchangeability of coloured glass panel 2.
As shown in Figure 2, the coloured glass panel 2 rests against, and is supported by the lip of the Rame 1. It is held in place by a catch or similar means ( not shown).
Claims (2)
1. A window blind providing a set of interchangeable coloured glass panels, each capable of being set in a suitable frame, also interchangeable, including a means for releasably securing panel within frame, and each frame connectable, if required, to provide another, larger blind, each panel within it's frame to hang from a strong pole attached where ordinary curtain poles are attached on an internal wall above a window. Each coloured glass panel being removable and interchangeable with other glass panels. Each panel frame can be disconnected from the other frames and from the pole from which it hangs.
Each panel frame being able to be dismantled to permit removal and interchangeability of decorative coloured glass panels, new glass panels being available.
