Abstract

Glazed window shutter comprise a plurality of hingedly connected panels each panel comprising a frame <B>1</B> and at least one removable glass panel <B>4</B>. The panels may be connected together by hinges <B>2</B>.

Description

WINDOW SHUTTERS
The invention relates to internal window shutters with hinges, mountable at internal window apertures.
Ordinary windows do not provide much scope for variation. Once they are in place, they are difficult to change. The windows are fixed and the designs cannot easily be changed without expending a considerable amount of money and effort.
An object of this inversion is to provide window shutters which make it possible to change the effect of a window without having to replace the window itself Accordingly this invention provides a set of internal window shutters on hinges to permit folding, with interchangeable coloured glass panels, being releasably secured within the frames the coloured glass panels being removable and replaceable.
Preferably the shutters are made from wood, plastics materials or metal, or from a combination ofthese materials, with removable coloured glass panels.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows a front view of a four door shutter.
Figure 2 shows a section showing the pane in situ in the frame.

As shown in figure 1, the shutter comprises two or four sections 1 joined together by hinges 2 (in the case of a four section shutter they are hinged in pairs) and held against the room-side wall ofthe window aperture by hinges 3. Coloured or stained glass panels 4 are held in place within the frame sections 1 by, for example, a catch or similar means ( not shown).
Referring to Figure 2, the interchangeable coloured glass panels 4 are releasably secured against the lip of the section frame 5 by, for example, a clip, or catch or fastener or similar means ( not shown). When the shutters are closed in place, they are held closed by, for example, hooks and eyes or bar and catches or similar means ( not shown).
The panes 4, which are interchangeable, are made of coloured or stained glass and are decorative, the panes 4 being removable and replaceable. Each shutter door flame panel I can hold one, two or three interchangeable glass panels 4

Claims (2)

1. A set of internal window shutters on hinges to permit folding, with interchangeable coloured glass panels being releasably secured within the frame, the glass panels being removable and replaceable with other glass panels.
2. A set of internal window shutters substantially as described herein with reference to Figures 1 and 2 of the accompanying drawings.
