Abstract

The present invention discloses a puzzle comprising a board with playing pieces. Each playing piece comprises two discs joined by a stem. Channels in the board retain the playing piece on the board while allowing a piece to be manoeuvred around the board and positioned according to a pre-determined solution. The pieces may also be connected together by a strip.

Description

Disc Puzzle This invention relates to a sliding disc puzzle The puzzle
consists of a base plate which, can be of any size or dimension with sides that are shelved for retaining purposes. The internal space being subdivided by raised discs which are for retaining purposes and also to allow sliding double discs to slide and rotate around the base plate, the retaining discs are all set on the same parallel plain.
The double sliding discs consist of two discs one larger than the other connected in equal parallel plains by a stem. The smaller disc (lower) for retaining purposes and the larger disc (top) for printed matter such as A B C 1 2 3 or colours. The double sliding discs can in turn be connected in parallel to each other by means of a connecting strip to form two three or more in a chain formation. The connecting strips are held in place by a collar or grove on the stem of the double sliding disc, this is to allow the connecting strip to pass without obstruction over the top of the retaining discs on the base plate. The internal space of the base plate is filled with the sliding discs leaving one space vacant to allow movement.
The object of the puzzle is to use your skill to try to reassemble the double sliding discs or chain formation of the double discs, which have been assembled at random, to either a pacific solution, which would be given with the instructions, or the particiment can try to reassemble the puzzle to there own configuration.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which Figure I shows in perspective the complete p..le Figure 2 shows the base plate, with retaining shelf and retaining discs Figure 3 shows a double sliding disc Figure 4 shows a linked double sliding disc Figure 5 shows a triple linked double sliding disc, giving a chain formation Referring to the drawing the complete puzzle 1 showing how the internal space is filled leaving one space vacant to allow movement.
The base plate 2 showing the retaining shelves and retaining discs, which are essential to retain the double sliding discs 3 4 5 In order to complete the puzzle 1. The double sliding discs 3 4 5 that have been loaded at random, are moved around the base plate 2. The end result is to reassemble the double discs to a given solution, supplied with the instructions for the puzzle.
