Abstract

A strap for a snow board comprises thee straps 1,2,3 attached to a ring 5, so that each of the straps is free to move around the ring. Each of the straps ends in a clip 8,9,10. A fourth strap 4 also has a clip at each end 6, 7. Strap 2 has a padded sleeve to protect the strap and is adjustable. The strap arrangement may be used to support the board during carriage and storage by slipping the loop formed by joining straps 1 and 3 over the front of the board and attaching strap 2 to strap 3 and clipping the other end to the snow board binding, or may be attached to the board and used as a leash.

Description

Board strap The invention relates to a strap of a type for snowboards,
which permits the user to complete three separate tasks; A method of attaching to board during use; A method of carrying the board; A method for hanging snowboard off the floor.
Each of these functions are available singularly on the market however, none have the combined feature of all three functions into one product. The disadvantages are their limitations. This strap provides each function depending on the orientation of the straps.
The object of this invention is to provide a secure leash function to prevent board runaway on the ski slopes. To provide an over shoulder support when carrying snowboard. It also provides a method for securing a snowboard upright in an off-floor position for long term storage.
A central ring has attached to it, yet free to move three varied lengths of suitable material with each length having a connecting fastener at the end. A spring clip with a short strap of suitable,m, at,erial and a connecting fastener is utilis,e,d. to change between functions. Two of the straps are adjustable for varied sizes of user and snowboards. A padded sleeve is provided for support during carrying and protection to strap during storage of board.
The preferred embodiments of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 - Shows strap as an open item; Figure 2 - Illustrates the leash mode of operation; Figure 3 - Shows strap in over shoulder position for carrying; Figure 4 - Shows long-term storage position.
As shown in Figure 1, the product comprises of three straps 1, 2 and 3 attached to a centre ring 5 in a manner to allow free rotation of the said straps around the ring. Strap 4 is attached clip 6. Connectors 7, 8, 9, 10 are fitted to the straps in an arrangement to provide different functions when connected together. Sponged sleeve 11 is for dual use during carrying and storing.
Figure 2 shows clip 6 attaching to a snowboard binding.
Connectors 7 and 8 are joined together leaving straps 1 and 3 to wrap around leg with connectors 9 and 10 joined together to complete leash role. Straps 2 and 3 are adjustable to fit user measurements.
Figure 3 shows the same arrangement of the connectors but straps 1 and 3 are positioned around the opposite binding to create the carrying strap formation. Sponged sleeve 11 is for comfort during carrying.
Figure 4 shows an innovative method to vertically hang snowboard by taking into account the widening feature of snowboards. By joining connectors 7 and 9, clip 6 is now available to hang onto an appropriate protrusion. Strap 2 is placed on the top face of the snowboard and connector 8 fastened at the rear to connector 10 providing triangular support.
Strap 2 is adjustable for varied board widths. Sleeve 11 is not fixed and protects the strap from abrasion by the snowboards metal edges.
